Toddler Locks Chinese Mom Out of Phone for Half a Century

March 9, 2018 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

Chinese Mom and locked iPhone.

A Chinese mom claims that her 2-year-old son locked her out of her iPhone for 47 years.

In the category ‘things your child should not mess around with’ we give you the semi-humorous story of a Chinese mother who now has to wait nearly half a century to use her phone. Apple’s technicians declared that there’s nothing to do in this case but wait or lose all data on the phone.

Chinese Mom Said She Left Her Child Unsupervised for a Couple of Seconds

The unlucky Chinese mom named Lou told a Shanghai news outlet that her 2-year-old son managed to lock her out of her iPhone for 47 years. As stunning it would might sound, this is quite a common thing among iPhone users who repeatedly enter the wrong PIN.

According to the Chinese mom, on that particular morning, she gave her 2-year-old son the phone in order to watch a couple of educative videos. She went to the kitchen and returned after a couple of seconds to check up on her son.

Upon returning, the woman had the shock of her life to discover that she was locked out of her phone and that the device kindly asked her to try again in 25,114, 984 minutes or roughly 47 years.

The Chinese mom jestingly told the reporter that she called the Apple customer service center because she wasn’t about to wait until her grandson is born to tell him or her about how his father managed to lock her out of her iPhone.

The Apple technician told the woman that she has two choices – either to a manual factory reset, which meant losing all data on her phone or wait until the device becomes unlocked.

The Chinese mom declared that she becomes weary of waiting, as it’s been two months since she last used her phone. An Apple technician declared that one user reported that he had to wait 80 years for his phone to get unlocked.

Bed ropes

US man sent his mother a picture of his bed ropes.

Perhaps there’s nothing more heartwarming than a son sharing a picture of his girlfriend on social media for everyone to see just how happy he is. However, a man from the US wished he had checked his surroundings before sending a picture to his mother.

Of Bed Ropes and Other Twitter Things

Maison Vallance, a fellow Twitter user, had more than he bargained for when he sent his mother a picture of his girlfriend. According to the individual, he just wanted to show his mom just how cute his girlfriend was wearing the shirt the woman bought for him several days ago.

At first glance, there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with the picture, other than the humongous shirt laid on the bed – a blonde woman in her 20s with a big smile on her face holding a T-shirt with her right arm while hiding under the cover.

No one seemed to pay much attention to the picture until a Twitter user observed that the bed’s headboard had something pinned to it that shouldn’t be tare – a long piece of rope with a noose at each end.

While everyone knew what the setup was being used for, a Twitter user told Vallance that setting up a hammock in the bedroom is a great idea. According to the man, his mother gave him a smirked, and that was to be the end of.

As for Vallance’s girlfriend, she was quite embarrassed about the bed ropes, but she quickly managed to get over it. The man said that everything ended in good humor and that he’s going to check his photos a couple of times before posting them online.

The embarrassing photos of the bed ropes amassed approximately 200,000 likes and 50,000 retweets.

January 20, 2018 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

Speeding motorboat incident.

Speeding motorboat owner sued by fishing boat owner for August incident.

Bryan Maess, the owner of the fishing boat involved in the incident which took place on the 12th of August 2017, has filed a lawsuit against speeding motorboat owner Marlin Lee Larsen. The fishermen and two of his friends barely managed to escape Larsen’s motorboat by jumping in the ice-cold river.

Speeding Motorboat Incident Caught on Camera

According to the Maess’s account, on the 12th of August 2017, he and a couple of his buddies were out fishing in the man’s 20-foot fishing boat, in an area located between the Pacific Ocean and the Columbia River.

Before going out, Maess mounted a GoPro camera on his ship in order to record the experience. Several minutes later, the GoPro camera captures Marvin Lee Larsen’s motorboat speeding towards Maess’s fishing boat.

At one point during the recording, you can hear Maess and his friends screaming to the motorboats owner, but to no avail. In order to save their lives, Maess and the boat’s occupants had to leap in the ice-cold river.

The last minutes of the recording show Larsen’s speeding motorboat plowing the fishing boat. Following the incident, the authorities transported Maess and his friends to the hospital where they’ve received medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries.

Larsen, the owner of the speeding motorboat, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, reckless operation, and fourth-degree assault.

According to the authorities, Larsen’s son-in-law, who was also on the boat when the incident occurred, declared that he saw the man talking on the phone several times during that day. Larsen later dismissed the allegations but offered no explanations as to why he lost control of the vessel.

Conclusion

Maess has filed a lawsuit against Larsen and demanded $372,500 in compensation. Moreover, the fishing boat’s occupants are also expected to file lawsuits against Larsen.

Orange Cove Man Received Death Threats After Twin Brother Molests Child

January 17, 2018 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

Orange Cove rapist arrest

The twin brother of the Orange Cove man who molested a 7-year-old girl received death threats.

Orange Cove authorities are currently wrestling with a most unusual case which involves twin brothers. Shortly after arresting Juan Carlos Perez for child molestation, his twin, Juan Jose Perez, and his family have been receiving death threats from unknown individuals. The case is still under scrutiny.

Orange Cove Man Arrested. Brother Gets Blame.

The woman of recalls the story involving Juan Carlos Perez and his twin brother. Out of caution, the woman asked the authorities to conceal both her and her relatives’ names. She woman declared that the story began several years ago when Juan Carlos Perez went out on a date with her twin sister, who also has a seven-year-old daughter.

Perez and the woman’s relationship lasted for a while until the woman discovered that Perez had molested her daughter on several occasions. After calling the police to report Perez’s deviant behavior, Juan Carlos turned himself over and confessed his deed.

Unfortunately, the story doesn’t end here. Despite the child molester being incarcerated, his twin brother, Juan Jose Perez, seems to have become Orange Cove’s public enemy.

On more than one occasion, Juan Jose went to the authorities to complain about death threats to him and to the family and that he was contemplating moving out of the country.

The woman’s state sister rose to defend Juan Carlos’ twin brother, saying that they’re nothing alike, except for their appearance. In fact, the woman told the reporters that her twin sister called Juan Jose before the police in order to tell him about his brother’s deeds.

Instead of defending his brother, the man told the distressed mother to call the police and swung by their house in order to get his brother away from the child. Rumors regarding false arrest have been debunked by the authorities who declared that the Orange Cove rapist has a distinctive mark on his chest.

Pope Francis Prayed for the End of War During Visit of the American Military Cemetery

November 5, 2017 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

pope francis

Pope Francis followed a rather new tradition by traveling to Nettuno, Italy on November 2. His goal was to pay respects to the 7,860 American soldiers buried on foreign ground. The American military cemetery is part of the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery. All these soldiers died for the liberation of southern Italy and Rome during World War II.

Pope Francis Visited the American Military Cemetery and Prayed for the End of Wars

During his visit, Pope Francis stated that he senses how the world slowly moves towards one of the biggest wars in history. Therefore, this day meant for the pontiff an opportunity to remember the terrors of battles and guide people and authorities towards peaceful lands.

“Please Lord, stop. No more wars. No more of these useless massacres.”

On the other hand, Pope Francis did not elaborate on what exactly makes an international conflict imminent. However, his speech can only underline the enmity between North Korea and the United States leaders. As of recently, these tensions culminated with warnings of nuclear bombs. At the same time, there are other sources of conflicts throughout the world that led to human suffering and losses of lives.

Pope’s speech was part of an annual commemoration of Roman Catholic’s dead that takes place on November 2. As per a modern tradition, the head of the Roman Catholic Church visited the American military cemetery in Nettuno. He placed around a dozen of white roses on the graves of American soldiers.

Vatican Will Host an International Conference on Nuclear War Topic in November

During his pilgrimage, the Pope stopped at the Ardeatine Caves. This is where Nazi soldiers gathered 335 Italian political prisoners, Catholics, Jews, and other persons to shot them from behind. This was their way to vindicate an attack on the previous day that killed 33 of their soldiers in March 1944.

The Pope will host a two-day event starting on November 10 at the Vatican. Numerous invitations were extended to Nobel peace laureates, top U.N. and NATO authorities, and international ambassadors. The goal of this conference is to find solutions to nuclear war threats.

Stranger Things Season 3 Confirmed Where the Mind Flayer Prevails

October 30, 2017 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

stranger things characters

If you liked Stranger Things 1, the all-new season has the same successful ingredients plus a few extra others. There are new characters, a slew of throwback elements of the ‘80s, and the favorite storylines got to meet their evolution in some extremely positive notes. However, the Duffer Brothers made sure to leave the ending open. The same recipe was seen in the finale of the first season when Will pukes out a living pollywog and then goes in and out of the Upside Down world. This time, an even darker villain lurks the quiet town of Hawkins, namely the Mind Flayer.

The Duffer Brothers Emerged the Story into Deeper Plots While Keeping the Hawkins Universe Believable

If we take a look back, creators Matt and Ross Duffer managed to build an exciting and incremental plot. At first, the main characters get to assimilate the fact that they are living some paranormal events. In the meantime, a wicked alien world is testing the waters by sending one monster into the town of Hawkins. However, the good guys find a way to blast the demon into millions of particles.

In season 2, there are same main characters plus a few others. However, this time they are already familiar with the Upside Down universe. At the same time, the alien civilization opens the portal even more and starts digging an underground web of tunnels to take control over the entire town.

However, the teenage squad made of Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will, Max, Eleven, together with the adult squad made of Joyce, Jim Hopper, and Bob plus other witty residents of Hawkins manage to close the gate. Once the link is cut, the army of demadogs went down with it as well.

Season 3 Might Force the Residents of Hawkins to Slay the Mind Flayer Himself

After facing a scout and an army of soldiers, the Duffer brothers seem to prepare our heroes for an even greater confrontation. The season 2 finale ended with a quick glimpse into the Upside Down world where the shadow of the Mind Flayer loomed over a stormy sky.

The Shadow Monster seems to be trapped on Earth with the portal to his world closed behind him. He looks like a giant spider that is actually made of a hive. He proved numerous times that he has power over the living Upside Down ecosystem.

The kids of Hawkins might have to find a way to disrupt this powerful hive mind and banish any trace of this hostile culture from Earth in season 3. However, we have to wait another year to see what’s next in store for Hawkins.

Destiny 2 Community Disappointed by How the First Leviathan Prestige Raid Was Completed

October 22, 2017 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

destiny 2 poster

STATES CHRONICLE – The day the Leviathan prestige raid was launched in Destiny 2, a team managed to beat the game in just two hours after it became available. This was supposed to be the hardest mission for players that would give them enough challenges to keep them occupied for days. Yet Clan Redeem needed only 4 minutes to triumph and win absolute prestige across Destiny 2 community.

However, their achievement lost its shine when the footage of their raid came to surface. Users were able to see that the players took advantage of a bug to outwit the game and cross the finish line in record time.

The Controversial Bug Gives Players Endless Ammunition

The developer of Destiny 2, Bungie, thought congratulations were in order for Clan Redeem. They were among the first squads to take their new feature, Leviathan prestige raid, for a ride in two hours following the launch. They were also the ones that achieved the impossible by completing the raid in record time.

“Congratulations to Clan Redeem for being [the world’s] first to complete the Prestige Raid by a margin of only four minutes! Good game.”

However, Bungie kept silence when it was discovered that the team exploited a bug to secure their success. This flaw has been around since September, and it became known as the coil glitch. One of the players has even said in the footage of their legendary raid that they were taking advantage of this weakness.

The glitch consists of a source of ammo located on the Wardcliff Coil rocket launcher. As Destiny 2 players have limited ammunition, clan Redeem was able to unlock endless gunpower.

The Destiny 2 Community Debates Whether This Win Is Legit or a Cheat

So far, the Destiny 2 community is split into two sides. On the one hand, some fans of the game condemn the way Clan Redeem go their ‘world first’ status. They should have adopted fair play. By knowingly exploiting the glitch, the team of players gave the impression of cheating.

On the other hand, other members of the community are calling the legendary raid as valid. Since the developer didn’t inform players on the glitch and it didn’t fix it, the glitch can be seen as a general perk.

Razer Hinted at a First Gaming Smartphone on November 1st

October 14, 2017 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

razer logo

STATES CHRONICLE – Razer is one of the few manufacturers of products intended mainly for the gaming world. This means that the company stands at the core of numerous communities of players for whom each new product is an exciting adventure. Therefore, there’s no wonder that ideas started flowing the moment Razer teased them with a massive event on November 1st. The announcement came in the form of a poster. The image features a gamer in fascination with a new small gadget. Therefore, fans immediately thought of Razer’s first gaming smartphone.

Razer Acquired This Year Nexbit

The rumors are not as farfetched as they might seem. Razer’s teleportation into the mobile market is bound to happen at some point. That’s because the company purchased Nextbit this year. The startup has already launched a smartphone called Robin. The next similar project might have just as well the Razer logo on it.

On top of that, Nextbit claimed back in September that it is preparing a new mobile product. As this is the first launch under the Razer ownership, chances are the new gadget will talk gamers’ language only.

Razer’s First Gaming Smartphone Might Sport Cutting-Edge Processor and Graphics Chip

While there are no confirmations of the big November 1st unveiling, Razer has already sparked enthusiasts’ imagination. Since the company specializes in gaming concepts only, the presumable smartphone will surely develop this unexplored side of the mobile world.

Therefore, people are looking at a beastly processor and a smooth graphics chip that can accommodate real gaming productions. Angry Birds, Pokemon GO, Candy Crush Saga, and other such famous apps are not precisely what pro gamers are wishing for themselves. Therefore, if Razer found a way to incorporate world-renowned titles into a mobile platform, the company will be in for huge success.

Razer fans have to wait until November 1st to discover what’s their next adventure in the gaming hardware world. Until then, new theories will come up in expectation of the big event.

Before Colonizing Mars, UAE Inaugurates Martian City on Earth

October 3, 2017 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

architecture structure

No human so far has ever reached the surface of Mars. However, telescopes, rovers, and other monitoring tools shared with us lots of data regarding this planet. With all the disadvantages of this indirect contact, one thing is for sure. The Red Planet remains the sole nearby contestant to take the role of Earth 2. Therefore, before colonizing this planet, the UAE government plans to take all the life changes that humans will experience here into consideration. As such, they are building a replica of a Martian city on Earth.

The Martian City Will Function Both as a Laboratory and a Museum

The UAE Government granted a total of $136 million for the construction of the Mars Science City. This project will provide visitors and experts with the necessary tools and insights to simulate how a lifestyle within a different environment would look and feel like.

The settlement will feature several domes over 1.9 million square feet. It will be equipped with laboratories for water, energy, and food. Further agricultural reviews will inform scientists on the right decisions regarding food security and regeneration.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan intend to use this project not only as a series of laboratories but also as a museum. The establishment will house tributes to greatest space achievements in human history. This part is meant to inspire young minds to join their forces and specialize in aeronautics.

Officials discussed the ambition of a Martian city during the annual meetings in the name of the UAE government in Abu Dhabi. The project is another initiative that can help the UAE become a leader in the global scientific efforts to send people to Mars. However, the futuristic city is just part of the original plan to build the first colonization on the Red Planet by 2117.

Sleep Deprivation Increases the Risk of Cognitive Impairment

May 28, 2017 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

Brain synapses

Chronic sleep deprivation might lead to brain damage

STATES CHRONICLE – A new study published in the Journal of Neuroscience warns people that chronic sleep deprivation is much more dangerous that they could have expected. Extreme feelings of exhaustion might be caused by an impairment in one’s brain capacity, which might be a direct cause of sleep deprivation. The study suggests that lack of sleep might actually make the brain eat itself.

Performing brain scans on mice to see how they react to sleep deprivation

For the research, scientists looked at how mice brains reacted when they had a normal sleep patterns, when they awoke spontaneously, and when they suffered sleep deprivation and chronic sleep deprivation.

By using an advanced software, they analyzed the processes and synapses which took place in the frontal cortex of the mice. This technique is called block-face scanning. When looking at the mice with an irregular sleep pattern, they noticed that certain cells were more active than others. These cells, called astrocytes, were found to break down parts of the brain.

More precisely, sleep loss caused these astrocytes to consume entire portion of synapses. Researchers explained that this might be the brain’s way to get rid of ‘debris’ and keep itself clean. Besides, sleep loss also influences other cells as well.

Sleep deprivation activates microglial cells

Microglial cells are also responsible with ‘cleaning’ the brain. They look for unnecessary cells or damaged neurons which are no longer needed in the brain and get rid of them. These represent around 15 percent of all brain cells and are also found in the spinal cord.

Researchers noticed how chronic sleep deprivation (meaning around five days of staying awake) activated the microglial cells. This is quite worrying, since even a small level of activation in these cells can lead to the occurrence of brain disorders. For instance, prolonged activation of the microglial cells is present in patients with Alzheimer’s.

Therefore, long-term sleep deprivation might lead to serious damage to the brain. If people spend too many nights without sleep, they are in danger of losing vital cells from their brain and then gradually lose their cognitive capacity.
