In Brazil, the remains of a dinosaurs were discovered and it is claimed to be the largest one.

STATES CHRONICLE – The remains of a dinosaur were found in a storage cupboard in Brazil. It is assumed to be the largest one ever discovered in Brazil. About 66 million years ago, this herbivore with long neck was 25 meters high, even longer than a bus. It could walk among the largest trees and devour leaves from the upper top of its crown. This dinosaur was discovered back in 1953 by Llewellyn Ivor Price who managed to reveal only a few parts of the spine. Researchers suspected that something even bigger was about to unveil.

At that time, men of science hadn’t the benefit of using advanced technological tools to analyze the fossil even more. Those bone fragments of the dinosaur remained for the next 60 years to be stored in Rio’s Museum of Earth Sciences.

The advanced technology from today allowed experts to investigate the matter. On Thursday, the bones of the biggest dinosaur from Brazil, known as “Austroposeidon magnificus” amazed the world of science with its grandeur.

Some petrified fragments from the spinal vertebra and other pieces of vertebrae were brought to light. The spinal vertebra is as big as a microwave oven.  Painting with the image of the dinosaur done to scale was produced by an artist. The size of the picture represents the approximate size of the dinosaur in the real world. It was thought that this creature has a small head, long tail and neck, and an enormous body.

A patch of the dinosaur’s skin was pulled back to unveil the place where the vertebra must have lied and fit in the past. The director of the Brazilian museum, Diogenes de Almeida Campos asserts that it took him and his team sixty years to study the discovery. He revealed that Price and his assistants, back in the 1950s, were exploring Brazil’s fields. It was evident that a gigantic animal like this needed a close analysis of the study.

The research was held up by financial resources, but also by the technology which lacked the boost they needed to explore more about this creature.  Campos asserts that the lack of personnel was also a problem, stating that today in Brazil there are only ten other dinosaur experts.  Eight years ago, he tried to start analyzing the study with the help of his students, but they did not succeed. Resources were destitute.

What is your opinion on this great discovery? Do you believe that similar relics like this are to be discovered?
