Terrorist groups continue to damage cities, kill innocent people and pillage in the name of a superior entity, which some of the Muslims say it would be a disgrace to be called either `the Prophet` or even `God`, `Allah`.
The al-Shabaab terrorist group, an organization which has confirmed links with another well-known jihadist organization, al-Qaeda, has recently stormed a university in Kenya, killing approximately 150 people. After this dreadful event, the representatives of the al-Shabaab, also known as the Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen (meaning `the Youth` or `the Youngsters`, `the Mujahideen Youth Movement), have announced that their crime at the Kenyan university is not the last the world would see of them. They have vowed that the cities will run red and also have added that they will lead an offensive military campaign against Kenya. al-Shabaab threatened that a long terrible war is about to begin.
Kenyan authorities have announced that 5 people have been taking into the custody. The arrested people were in connection with the assault on the Kenyan Garissa University, which is located nearly 200 kilometers (120 miles) away from the border with Somalia, the state which al-Shabaab originate from.
The assault of the al-Shabaab militants on the Garissa University is a terrible tragedy and also a very disputed topic worldwide. Survivors have told how the jihadists were murdering especially the Christian students, leaving some of the Muslim students alive. The Christian communities in Kenya are horrified, fearing another attack on Christian objectives would eventually occur.
The al-Qaeda, which is linked to the al-Shabaab `terrorist youngsters` has explained the message they wanted to transmit through the assault at the Garissa University. They wanted to inform the people in Kenya that al-Shabaab`s offensive was in reply to the strong Kenyan military presence in their neighbor Somalia`s territory. In addition to that, they said that the al-Shabaab assault is a response to the mistreatment to which Muslims in Kenya are bound.
“No amount of precaution or safety measures will be able to guarantee your safety, thwart another attack or prevent another bloodbath from occurring in your cities,”
was stated in a message received by Reuters in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. The message was sent by al-Shabaab and it was referring to the firm decision of the jihadists toward starting a war against Kenya.
“This will be a long, gruesome war of which you, the Kenyan public, are its first casualties.”
was also stated in the al-Shabaab gruesome message.
