Acting on a tip they’ve received on Friday, the Colorado authorities arrested a 40-year-old homeless man who allegedly stabbed to death the woman who offered him a place to stay at her house. According to the authorities, the suspect took advantage of his host’s generosity and invited one of his friends to stay with them.
Colorado Homeless Man Stabbed Victims Six Day Before Valentine’s Day
On Friday, the Colorado authorities arrested 40-year-old Terry Dunford, a homeless man, on suspicion of stabbing to death 49-year-old Jeanna Leslie, a recently divorced woman who offered to take Dunford in.
According to the authorities, Leslie was touched by Dunford’s heartfelt story and told the man that she’s willing to share the apartment with him. Things remained unchanged until Dunford invited one of his friends to join him and Leslie.
The authorities declared that the woman did not protest and even offered to buy groceries and alcohol for Dunford and his companion, an aspect confirmed by surveillance footage which shows Leslie and Dunford exiting an alcohol shop.
Unfortunately, with no good going unpunished, as the saying goes, Leslie’s generosity would be her undoing. One afternoon, the woman’s ex-husband called her after she failed to pick up their two children from a basketball game.
The man later alerted the authorities who, in turn, went to Leslie’s apartment. Upon entering the house, the investigators found Leslie’s bodies in the living room and some blood-smeared clothes in the trash. Their searches led them to the Colorado homeless man and his companion.
Dunford was later arrested and charged with first-degree premeditated murder. At the moment, the homicide detectives could not uncover the reason why the Colorado homeless man chose to take the life of his gracious host. The investigation is ongoing, which means that more details are sure to emerge.
