A daytime fireball was seen in North Carolina

People reported a daytime fireball in North Carolina.

STATES CHRONICLE – People from North Carolina had the chance to see a rare daytime fireball across the sky. More than 250 people witnessed this unusual event and some of them were able to capture it on video. At first, they were surprised and did not know what to expect from the strange thing that was seen across the sky.

Michael Hankey, who is operations manager at the American Meteor Society, said that daytime fireballs are seen a few times a year and the meteorite should be big enough so that people could be able to see it. Scientists describe a fireball as a very bright meteor, which has the same magnitude as Venus.

Researchers asked people to report them what they have seen and describe the event with as many details as possible. They wanted to fight one how long did it last, what was the color and its lenght across the sky. There were many people who reported the event.  Most of them said it was like  a ball, blue first, then red, with orange and at the end it was yellow. It lasted for a few seconds , so many people were not able to understand what is happening.

There were 456 reports of people who saw the fireball around the world , since Monday, last week. It’s one of the weeks with the most activity regarding this matter. The week with the least activity was on May 9, with only 92 people who reported seeing a fireball. We should expect more of these events to happen in the near future. According to the scientists, things are brighter in the sky during this period. The moon is near Mars and Saturn, so people will be able to use a telescope to see these two planets.

Even though NASA made so many studies and managed things that were believed impossible, the Universe is still a mystery for most of us. We always want to find out more about what happens in the space or what other planets were discovered. A daytime fireball is a rare daytime event and this makes it more special for us. The American Meteorological Society is asking people to report if they see strange events in the sky and describe them as good as they can because every detail is important.
