STATES CHRONICLE – Unless you were on the ISS in the last 2 months, it’s most likely that you’ve heard the hype surrounding Fallout 4. Whether you’ve actually played it or not, it’s pretty obvious from the internet reactions that the game is extremely fun, if not even addictive. At least that’s what an unnamed man says, as the Russian Fallout 4 player got fired, divorced, is suing Bethesda.
Arguably the most hyped game of the year, Fallout 4 has brought distress to many a household, as people all over the world took vacations, started ignoring their loved ones, and spent hour after hour in front of the computer screen, playing Bethesda’s latest RPG.
But despite the millions to which the game has brought joy, or at least satisfaction, there is one man who suffered greatly in the wake of Fallout 4’s release.
This man, this unsung hero, is an unnamed 28 year old from Krasnoyarsk, Russia, and his tale is a tragic, heart-wrenching story involving addiction, love, loss, betrayal, and finally, hopefully, retribution.
Our hero’s story began just like any other, as he realized that he had enough money to finally buy a game for which he had been waiting for a long time.
Intending to spend only a couple of hours a night in the American Wasteland, our hero set out to bring the game’s story to an end.
And this is where his woes began, as the anonymous former husband and employee discovered the real, terrible truth behind Fallout 4: It’s very, very fun addictive.
The adventurer was lost, for three weeks, in the dark magic that is the world of Fallout 4, and when he came to, he discovered he had been ignoring his wife, his friends, and skipping work.
After three weeks of almost non-stop adventuring, our hero lost everything. His wife divorced him, his boss fired him, and he even started getting health problems due to his lack of sleep, nutrients, and countless hours spent on a chair.
Having found himself without the love of his life, without a calling, and suffering from an uncomfortable and undisclosed illness, the Russian man decided to seek out the help of a man of justice in order to get retribution from the evil that befell him.
So, yes, basically he played Fallout 4 for three weeks, lost his job and wife because he didn’t pay attention to them, and has now gotten a lawyer and is suing Bethesda for $7000 for not mentioning that the game is addictive. Or for emotional distress, as he put it.
Not even the lawyer seemed to take the unnamed Krasnoyarsk man seriously, claiming that since this is the first lawsuit of its kind in Russia, the firm will just have to see how far they can go with the case.
