
Gas station clerk calls the police after seeing suspicious couple.
A gas station clerk has become somewhat of a local hero after he managed to save the life of a kidnapped woman. Seeing that the woman was in distress, the gas station employee called the authorities. The suspect was apprehended on Monday at his residence.
Gas Station Clerk Says the Couple Was Acting Suspicions
The gas station clerk told the authorities that the story of the kidnapped woman begun with a couple’s car pulling into the BP gas station. The clerk said that the couple looked suspicious as the man was literally shadowing the woman he was with.
After getting inside the gas station, the woman approached the counter and asked the gas station clerk to tell her what kind of cigarettes they had on sale. During his recitation of the store’s merchandise, the observed that the woman was mumbling something about the man behind her.
The gas station clerk soon understood that the man behind her was her abductor and that the woman was telling him to do something otherwise she would be killed.
Moments later, the gas station clerk politely asked the woman to follow him to his office. Once inside, the woman told him that the man, later identified as 36-year-old Russell E. Deshields, kidnapped her, forced her inside the call and said that he would kill the woman if she refused to cooperate.
The gas station clerk notified the authorities, locked the office behind him, and went to confront Deshields who in the meantime disappeared.
Following a complete investigation, the man was apprehended on Monday at his house. According to the police report, the suspect was found hiding under a bed. The man was arrested and charged with kidnapping.
The woman told the police that she had a restraint order against Deshields and that he kidnapped her from her house.
