Heard about ‘Glassware’? It is a new term found by Google for apps that are specially developed to work with Google Glass. The new apps for Google Glass were announced recently at the Google I/O event. A total of seven apps were announced which includes popular social networking apps like Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr and other apps like Evernote, CNN, Elle and an exclusive game called Ice Breaker. Before announcing these apps, Google had already announced apps like NYT and Path.
Here is a low down on each of the 7 apps:
Facebook
It works like an app meant for photo sharing. You will be upload photos to your timeline and add descriptions to it. It allows you to delete photos.
Twitter
You can view your Twitter stream, add posts and upload photos to your stream. The messages that you add on Glass appears like a bundle.
Tumblr
You can access the latest updates from the Tumblr dashboard. It allows you to add content like text, images and video.
Evernote
The best note-making apps comes to Google Glass. You can share notes from the internet or mobile apps.
Elle
The app does well in helping you know everything from the fashion world. In the form of snippets, you will be able to access text and photo updates.
CNN
The app allows you to view videos of latest news and access new updates and streams. It will also alert you when there is breaking news.
Ice Breaker
This game is an interesting interactive game which allows Google Glass users to converse with each other. When a new game is started, the app will alert about a player who is nearby. The app makes Google Glass users to meet one another and snap photos to earn points.
Google wants app developers to offer users with the best experience and hence they have laid down certain rules for developing apps. The apps that are to be developed should suit small screen. It should make relevant alerts. It should send regular information to the user. It should also help in carrying out tasks easily as compared to other apps.
