It is not just the Nexus 5 that is going to be the next big thing to be expected of Google. For the search giant also has quite a few other tech bits up its sleeve that is sure to perk up the gadget lover’s interest.
The upcoming Kit Kat update to its Android OS is one of them though with the last update, Android 4.3 still being fresh, it would perhaps be unwise to expect Google to release still another version so soon. However, the biggest surprise launch could be a new iteration of the Nexus 10 device which will take on the new iPad 5 on one hand as well as the new Surface 2 range on the other. Apple is expected to launch its new iPad range sometime next month while Microsoft is slated to come up with its new Surface 2 device on the 23rd of Sept itself.
Also, while a new Nexus 10 tablet is expected to arrive at around the same time that the Kit Kat update arrives, that it would be an Asus made device is what is being speculated. Also, in what can be considered almost as a norm preceding every high profile product launch, photographs of an Asus built device which in all probability is the Nexus 10 has also been seen via Android Central. The UK based retailer Curry’s too have come up with what it claims to be the upcoming Nexus 10 device, all of which point out the device is not too far off. Along with the leaked images, what is also being speculated is that the new Nexus 10 will also see a price jump much along the line of the new Nexus 7 that costs slightly more than the earlier model.
The Nexus 10 launched prior to the holiday shopping frenzy offers the best pixel density than any other tablet launched any time before, which also includes the iPad 4 with its famed retina display. However, the one area where the Nexus 10 was found to be lacking is its battery back-up times, the one aspect that led to it being not too popular with the masses. Let’s see how Google manages to improve things with the new Nexus 10.
