Google Play Is the Top Mobile Application

google play the top mobile appsGoogle Play Is the Top Mobile Application as revealed by appFigures. Google Play ranked Apple’s performance in terms of new applications and developers, becoming the top mobile application. Since this morning, Google Play, the mobile application, decides to leave behind second place and take the Golden Medal. Last year, reports show that the application exceeds Apple’s applications.

Considering application store, Google surpassed Apple due to an increased number of new applications. This year’s reports show that more than 380,000 developers fancy Google while only 282,000 developers adopted the Apple store application.

There are three main application stores: Google Play, Amazon Appstore and iOS App Store. All the three application stores have been growing in the past year with considerable steps.  An overall growth of 50 percent is detected on all apps stores. These increased numbers have been noticeable mostly in the last half of 2014. Still, Google Play is climbing the success ladder with enormous steps.

Taking into account the three application stores, a clear battle can easily be seen. Google Play is now the top mobile application. On second place, iOS App Store is trying to at least achieve the titan’s performance.

The two stores gigantic growth is caused by their ways of managing mobile application markets. Google Company publishes directly applications without any reviews. The company only intervenes in case of Terms of Service violation. Meanwhile, the developers from Apple have a more complex process before releasing any apps.

Furthermore, the two stores, Google and Apple focus on different categories of applications. iOS App Store has increased its numbers with categories such as Business, Food & Drink, Lifestyle, Social Networking and Catalogs. Developers published apps firstly regarding business and secondly regarding lifestyle.

However, Google approached a different audience looking for Games, Photography, Music, Business and Entertainment. Game apps were the most liked by a wider audience than business.

Amazon occupies the last place, being considered a rooky apps store with little results but filled with vital, new force.  The latter’s increase is by 90 percent last year which is literally a titanic growth. However, Amazon’s increase does not even come close to its two opponents. It only has 293,000 applications in comparison with the million apps owned by the other two groups.

For the time being, in terms of developers and number of applications, Google is by far the leader on apps store. However, this growth does not necessarily mean it is the developers’ top preference. Many of them are still launching apps first on iOS and then on Android software.
