According to it, people that want to improve their health should start by getting good or at least enough sleep on a regular basis. There are many harmful effects of too little sleep over time, warn specialists.
Sleep Deprivation and Its Effects
Having a regular sleep regimen is one of the best things that a person can do for their health. Many people seemingly do not realize they are getting too little sleep until they actually look at the sleep data recorded with some help from technology.
There are various indicators of sleep deprivation over a long period of time. For example, one of the possible causes of a weak performance at work could be a lack of sleep. Getting the right levels of sleep is vital for people that want to exercise on a regular basis. Our bodies also cannot properly recover without getting quality sleep.
Trying and going to sleep at night at the same or around the same hour is reported as being a good way of improving the quality of rest at night.
The CDC and the latest reports point out that a continuous sleep deprivation can lead to various health problems, include some very serious ones. Research tied the lack of sleep to health issues such as obesity and an increased risk of diabetes. It also points to the possibility of being affected by mental health problems, for example, depressive symptoms. Another study also linked the lack of sufficient sleep to increased risks of kidney problems.
However, a recent study also found an association between a controlled, short-term sleep deprivation with an amelioration of the symptoms of depression.
