There are two major streams of discussion that has emerged when it comes to Apple and its products. It being the new iOS 7 along with its supposedly groundbreaking features, and the iPhone 5S which is next in line of the iPhone series.
Probable release dates of the iPhone 5S has turned out to be a hot topic, with some speculating it to be August while others, the traditionalist, keeping with September. The August speculation is based on notes to investors and also information received from the suppliers Apple is taking the components that would go into the making of the iPhone 5S.
September launch logic goes with the reasoning of the iPhone 5 having been launched in that month last year. Its global availability had been around November and December last year. Possibility of Apple including their iPad Mini Retina, as well as the MacBook Pro is also there. That the latter will have the Haswell processor from Intel is the additional speculation.
The factors that play against the September release date are that there are other mobile devices that would rival the Apple product and are due for release in the months to come. The major mobile makers in this race are Samsung and HTC. The Galaxy Note 3 which will be the newest flagship from Samsung is expected in the US this fall while the HTC One Mini is expected to hit the market during the August-September period. The exact dates of the HTC One would be confirmed at the IFA event.
Apple has a lot at stake so far as the iPhone 5S goes. They have been facing a downward trend in the stock market. They have no additional device to bring in revenue and their market share is on the decline. A release date late in the year may therefore create problems for Apple in all these aspects and even carry over to 2014.
The iOS 7 is one other Apple related issue which would have some effect on the launch date of the iPhone 5S. This new OS from Apple is supposed to be installed on all the new Apple devices as well as older ones that have a retina display on them. The release of the iOS 7 after smoothening the initial bugs would have to be completed before the iPhone 5S launch as this device would also have iOS 7 at its core.
When it comes to what the iOS 7 has to offer so far as looks and functions go, there are ample YouTube video content available to get a fair knowledge on this. There are however contradictory reports like one concluding the colors are too bright while another states it is just perfect.
The iOS 7 would have telling effect on Apple users for they would either like it so much that they would go on to the iPhone 5S. If they don’t, then the possibility of remaining with their previous variant is there else they may also move on to Android phones which have a wider variety to select from.
One other challenge which Apple would need to consider is Google Play Store making the Android phones available via their web site running the latest Android version in its purest form. Products like Nexus or the Google Edition Galaxy S4 and HTC One sets are some of the devices which are being made available via Google Play Store with no modification to the Android OS.
News about Apple considering the addition of just one color variant to its iPhone 5S makes for this competition which Apple has to face. It would be a better decision if Apple went on to add more such color variations in their sets for the user to select from.
