Apple keeps on going strong in sales especially in China where the iPhone 6 (even 6 months after its release) is the favorite smart phone, defeating even Samsung. China appears to be the market that has brought the biggest income for the American company.
Apple announced that the sales in China have went up with 71% reaching a revenue of $16.8 billion brought by the new smart phone models released by the company, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Between January and March 2015,, Apple has sold in China more iPhones than it has in America, according to statistics.
The new iPhone has truly been on high demand in China as for the first quarter of this year the Chinese market represented 29% of Apple’s global sales, while a year ago it represented 21%.The United States market represents 37% of the global sales but are showing a much slower growth at just 19% for the last quarter of the year.
By the way things are going China might become one of the biggest markets for Apple smart phones.
The iPhone 6 has had an immense success in China and if the situation continues the same, China might bring Apple up to 40% of its income by 2017.In other words the Chinese market could be Apple’s “golden goose”, explained analyst Daniel Ives.
The success of the new iPhones is due to the bigger screened design. Chinese Apple customers have been waited for years for the company to design bigger screens for the Iphones and now that they have finally arrived they upgrading at an insane rate, stated executive director of analytics firm, Neil Mawston.
It appears that in China bigger is better indeed as some years ago when Samsung launched the Galaxy Note which is a combination of a phone and a tablet (phablet) the tech company created a frenzy on the Chinese market, due to the bigger screen of over 5 inches.
Now, Apple has adopted a similar strategy and released a phone with a larger screen in order to win some the big screen lovers customers on their side.
According to Tim Cook, Apple has observed that lately many users of rival brand smart phones have switched to iPhones, meaning that many of the Android users have changed it for IOS.
One of the reasons Chinese people are so drawn to the bigger sized phones is the fact that Chinese characters are much easier to be written and videos can be watched much better.
Another factor is related to the smart phones being the only internet device Chinese people own, meaning that it has to consist of the best features on the market for a device. The fact that a phone is used for more things and needs makes them appreciate larger screens. Many of them are always on the go and a device that could suit their needs at all times is exactly what they are looking for.
