Martin Shkreli is suspended from Twitter

Lauren Duca mentioned that Martin Shkreli has been photoshopping photos of her.

STATES CHRONICLE –The former executive from Turing Pharmaceuticals, Martin Shkreli, is also known as “Pharma Bro” due to the fact that he made a drug more expensive. Now, Martin Shkreli is involved in a new scandal. He is suspended from Twitter because he harassed a journalist.

The journalist Lauren Duca mentioned that she was harassed by Martin. Another person who remained anonymous mentioned that this is the reason for which Shkreli was suspended from Twitter. This happened after Lauren Duca wrote a viral op-ed for Teen Vogue.

This op-ed was not accepted by everybody and the journalist started to receive a lot of angry messages. Martin Shkreli started to troll her on Twitter and that is why he is suspended now. She observed that Shkreli change the profile picture on Twitter to an image of her. In that picture, Martin Shkreli is photoshopped.

After she noticed this, she tweeted these images to Jack Dorsey, the chief executive from Twitter. She asked him how is that possible. She also mentioned that this is not the first time she is harassed by Martin Shkreli. He has been doing this for some time now and he wasn’t going to stop. This might be the reason for which he is now suspended from Twitter.

A Twitter spokesperson commented on this matter mentioning that their rules prohibit this type of harassment. It was also mentioned that they are going to do something about this problem.

Lauren Duca mentioned that Martin Shkreli has been photoshopping photos of her and he said that she was dating her. This is even more disturbing since she is married and the picture he photoshopped is the one in which she is with her husband.

The only one who did not want to comment on this matter was, of course, Martin Shkreli. Twitter and Duca made their official statements while Shkreli only said that he doesn’t see this as a harassment because Lauren Duca did not tell him to stop.

Targeted Harassment is a common problem on social media sites and this is why Twitter is constantly trying to stop it by suspending the accounts of those who do such a thing. It is not sure that Shkreli was suspended from Twitter for harassing Duca but many people mentioned that this is the reason.
