A while ago we took a look at how Sony and Panasonic started working together to produce a 300 GB optical disk and today we’re giving you the latest Panasonic news. Panasonic created a tiny powerful battery that is perfect for wearable devices. Let’s take a look at the latest Panasonic pin-sized battery!
Panasonic Pin-Sized Battery
Panasonic has worked hard to come up with an innovative battery that is absolutely tiny! The new Panasonic pin-sized battery has a diameter or only 3.5 mm and is 20 mm long. The company said that it is the smallest in the industry when it comes to capacity by volume.
Panasonic is planning to show off the new pin-sized battery, the CG-320, at the Ceatec tech expo in Japan the following week.
The battery has a nominal capacity of 13 mAh and a voltage of 3.75 V and allows for NFC and Bluetooth links with smartphones. Panasonic has two more batteries in the works, one with a capacity of 30 mAh and the other with a capacity of 50 mAh; both batteries are slightly largers and heavier than the new Panasonic pin-sized battery, the CG-320.
The tech giant released a statement in which it said that:
The size, which is the smallest of its kind in the industry, can allow more flexible product design, and high strength and stability of form delivers high reliability.
The battery is perfect for wearable devices, such as smart glasses, but it will also help reduce the size of these devices. If the technology exists, then the companies will create the devices.
