Big screen smartphones or phablets clearly are the flavor of the season. The long awaited Galaxy Note 3 is already out though the phablet juggernaut surely isn’t stopping at that. Nokia, who have been among the probables to launch a phablet may have the Lumia 1520 ready soon enough. The above conclusion can be drawn from the image of the said device that has leaked online. Also, with it being a source as reliable as evleaks behind the revelation, one can be assured of things being almost at the final stages with the phablet.

What the leak has further brought to the fore is that with 6 inches of screen real estate on offer, the Lumia 1520 could well be the first Lumia device to offer full HD display. At present, not even the top of the line Lumia devices offer 1080p displays. Also, one advantage of having that big a display is that it naturally translates to having more titles available at one glance.  Further, with there being no other details that we know of the device as yet, what can also be speculated to a fair degree of surety is that it could be the Snapdragon 800 chip being at the core of the device.

Another aspect that has emerged as a hot topic of discussion is whether the Lumia 1520 will boast of an enhanced image capturing ability. There already is a slight bump to be noticed at the rear which has led many to believe if the Lumia 1520 will be endowed with the same camera set up as the 1020. Sony already has launched the Xperia X1 which boasts of a 20.7 mp camera supported by a host of advanced features.

As for its availability, evleaks has mentioned the Lumia 1520 will be ready for launch this year itself. No doubt Nokia will like to cash in on the holiday shopping craze and will try to launch the device towards the year end. Meanwhile there seems to be a debate going on within Microsoft whether or not to continue with the Lumia smartphone brand. Maybe Lumia 1520 could be the last of its clan.
