If all goes as per what the rumor mills have been working overtime on, there might be a big screen smartphone emerging from the Nokia camp any time soon. Tentatively named the Nokia Lumia Phablet, the device was earlier announced to be coming in September though that remains yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, information pertaining to the Lumia phablet is scare at best though as per some of the recent reports on this, the Nokia phablet will be featuring an upgraded version of the Windows Phone 8 operating system.
If that is not enough for the eager customers, here’s more. This upgrade is expected to offer support for higher attributes like that of a 6 inch full HD display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. That apart, the Nokia Lumia phablet, as rumor suggests will also come with a quad core Snapdragon Qualcomm 800 chip as well as remarkable 20MP primary camera at the rear. The Finnish company’s latest flagship device, the Lumia 1020 has received some great reviews thanks to its camera qualities, which whets our appetite to know more about what the camera with the Lumia phablet will be like.
Meanwhile, the other high profile phablet soon to be launched is the Galaxy Note 3 which Samsung is expected to launch at an event on September 4th. The Note 3 will pack in a Snapdragon 800 chips rated at 2.3 GHz though there will also be an Exynos 5 Octa chipset powered device as well for some regions. Other tech bits that we know of the Note 3 so far include a 3 GB RAM along with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean as the operating system. Also, Note 3 is said to feature a 13 MP camera at the rear.
There has also been a flurry of activity in the once dormant phablet segment with Sony already having launched the Xperia Z Ultra while HTC is readying the HTC One Max for a launch soon.
