The watercolor-style classic Okami comes for PS4, Xbox One, and PC
STATES CHRONICLE – Capcom comes with great news for veteran gamers who are familiar with the Zelda games released in the 2000s. In case you missed some of the last games which were released for PS2, the company decided to bring a remaster for PS4, Xbox One, and PC of one such games. We are talking about one of the best Zelda games, namely Okami.
The classic game will feature a PS4 remaster
Okami was released in 2006, and won everybody with the animation created in a watercolor manner, which described a magical world working with the help of interesting and catchy mechanics. This was the perfect recipe for a classic and, as any classic, it couldn’t be forgotten.
Therefore, Capcom decided to bring a special Christmas goodie for diehard fans, and the beloved Okami will feature a remastered version. A few generations of consoles later, the classic will now be available to play on PS4, as well as on PC or Xbox One. It will be released on December 12th, and you can buy it just before Christmas for $20.
What is Okami about?
In case you are not familiar with the game, Okami takes us on a journey to rid Ancient Japan of evil together with Amaterasu, a wolf goddess, and Issun, her tiny friend who is full of magic. It follows the line of a classic Zelda game, where you go on adventures, acquire more power, and fight enemies.
Although it initially had a realistic design, the creators changed it to the now popular picturesque design, which looks as if it was drawn in ink and watercolors. It was highly acclaimed by critics but, unfortunately, it didn’t have the same success with the public.
Even so, Okami remained a classic, and received a PS3 remaster in 2012. The graphic capabilities made great use of the painterly style of the game, which promises to get even better on the new consoles, as they will come in 4K resolution.
