A rocket is not quite a day by day transporting machinery, like other aerial ones in the family: planes and helicopters. The “lift off” is not a friendly start and the landing is always a challenge. Scientists from Space X have released a footage of their latest rocket that was freshly created and tested this winter. The attempt of it to land in the ocean was unsuccessful, but no one was surprised.
A video of the rising and the landing of the rocket was posted Friday online, showing the 14-story rocket that hit an angle of a football field and transforming itself in a spectacular fire over the Florida coast.
Elon Musk, who is the founder of Space X, is happy about the fact that first-stage of the Falcon rocket has succeeded in reaching a couple hundred miles off the coast, but the fall has been too rough and it caused the booster was torn into pieces. Its founder joked about the failed landing, saying that no cigar will be lit yet.
The Falcon rocket has been created with the purpose of transporting food and other NASA items, the estimated amount of pounds of food that could be carried with this aerial machine is of 5000. The goal was to reach the International Space Station.
These videos that they post online are always very popular between science enthusiasts. Before showing the explosion of the rocket, the company posted another video in which they showed the first flight of the Falcon 9 Reusable rocket and the number of views on YouTube was quite impressive: 2.4 million unique viewers, counted patiently within three days. The video of the crashing has gatherer almost five more times the views of the other one: 11.7 million views. The contact with the public has been made through the Twitter social networking site, and the last information given there about the experiment is that at the impact, the rocket’s legs and engine section were smashed. An interesting fact about the company is that it builds reusable rockets in order to bring down costs.
