Thirty years old Patrick James Fredrickson from Utah decided on Monday morning to quit his job he had as a landscaper. The supervisor of the landscaping company called the police and told them that one of his employees had just quit his job and was showing a weird behavior. Authorities came and searched the area but they couldn’t find the man.
In a short amount of time they received another call from a worker at a funeral home close by, who reported that his car got stolen. The man told the police he has been seeing a strange man looking around but he didn’t pay attention as he was busy.
According to police reports, the man stole a car parked outside a funeral house which he drove to Cleveland where he started asking people there weird questions, regarding a certain young girl that was living there. But he refused to give the exact reason why he wanted to find the girl.
At one point he allegedly decided to leave the area and stole another vehicle, this time a school bus. In the bus he found a list with the names of some children and their addresses.
Fredrickson used the list to reach the children. He arrived to the home of one of the children and had a conversation with the father who didn’t allow his child to hop on an empty bus with a stranger, stated police. Further police reports said that after he was refused, the man asked the father how to reach the house of another child.
The persons seeing Fredrickson driving around the neighborhood said that he had a cigarette in his ear and he was driving the vehicle really slow.
One of the mothers approached him and asked him if he was replacing one of the drivers but the man didn’t gave her a direct answer.
The woman felt there was something strange with him and called the police. Shortly, Friedrickson was found by authorities and was detained. It appears that the man has a background of sexual interactions with children and has a sex offender record.
In 2004 he pleaded guilty to engaging into unlawful sexual activity with a minor. But according to court records his case has been dismissed.
He has also records of having used fake names such as Pat Shelton, for impersonating a police officer, for having stolen goods while he was volunteering at a firefighting station and also for forgery.
Presently he is under arrest and is in the Emery County Jail. He is investigated for stealing a car and attempting to kidnap children. These are not the only accusation brought upon him, as it appears that the man has broken a water pipe inside his cell which caused the jail to flood. He might be also facing an accusation of damaging a jail.
