Talk about the Samsung Galaxy S5 has been gaining heat and ground and especially so after Samsung announced that it would be released earlier than what it had been scheduled for. The reason for this change of schedule by Samsung has not been clarified by the company. However, it can safely and quite surely be assumed that the ‘perceived’ low sales of the Samsung Galaxy S4 model which they launched this year, is the cause. Perceived because Samsung has earlier stated the Galaxy S4 has already gone past the 40 million sales figure mark but hasn’t stated how much their expectations have been. So there is no way one can assume by how much the seemingly decent looking sales figure has missed the sales mark.
With the talk about Samsung Galaxy S5 coming up, the first thing that has been speculated is the 4 GB of RAM that it would come with. For optimal usage of the high volume of RAM the handset would have the 64-bit Exynos processor installed in it. As of now the handsets use the Exynos 5-series processors. The new one to be used on the Samsung Galaxy S5 would form the Exynos 6-series of processors. It is the 64 bit architecture that this processor is based upon which helps in optimal usage of the 4 GB RAM that the S5 is rumored to come with. As of now the mobile devices with their current line of processors can handle a maximum of 3 GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features a 3 GB RAM, the highest for any mobile device from the company so far.
Date of launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S5 with its 64 bit architecture based chip and 4 GB of RAM is not yet known. Everything is under production stage as yet, but the steam has been put on to hurry up the process. Samsung has a market to hold and time does play an important part in this era where competition is hotting up almost every other day.
