Galaxy Note 3 Features: 5 Advantages Over The iPhone 5S Release Date

September 1, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

We are on the verge of being pampered with the new iPhone 5S as well as the Galaxy Note 3 release dates. Both the devices will be out in the coming weeks and will woo consumers with a great deal of features. While the Note 3 is likely to be launched on September 4, just a few days down the line, the September 10 Apple event is expected to yield the new iPhone 5S. Or in other words, there is a royal battle in the offing the stakes of which will be unusually high this time round.

This since Samsung has rapidly climbed on consumer acceptance on the back of some impressive device launches during the last few years. Apple on the other hand, has been able to maintain the lead but there seems a sizeable chunk of its user base who won’t mind to shift camps if there is a better device for the taking. Also, the Apple flagship could be seen puny in the face of other ‘flagship devices’ such as the HTC One Max, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra as well the Note 3.

Galaxy Note 3 Features

Although both these devices are expected to outsmart one another in many respects, a keen look at their features will help in finding out as to which of the two is the better device. A number of leaks in recent times have also given a clear picture as to which of the two will be more in demand. None of the two can be declared a cleared winner over the other. However, there does exists some areas where the Note 3 can be considered to have a clear advantage over the iPhone. Mentioned here are just some of the aspects where the iPhone can be found lacking vis-à-vis the Note 3.

If rumors are considered, the Note 3 will feature a full HD 5.7 inch display whereas the iPhone 5S will be featuring the same 4 inch Retina display like its predecessor, the iPhone 5. The large screen space is a boon for those who appreciate it. It makes for a great movie or video watching experience given the bigger display, something that is not quite possible in the iPhone 5S owing to the smaller screen size. It is for the same reason that the Galaxy Note 3 can be considered ideal for the gamers as well as the ones hooked onto reading. True there are many who prefer a more handy and compact device when it comes to a smartphone though the added advantage that the bigger display of the Note 3 can’t de denied either.

Internal memory is turning out to be a major issue with smart connected devices in the digital age what with there being so much to deal with and store these days. Smartphones as it stands right now are not only for making voice or video calls or for connecting to the internet. Manufacturers rather harp on other most sought after qualities of smartphones regularly. These include watching movies and videos, playing games, listening to music, taking pictures and so on. And all of these does make a substantial amount of memory mass, which can go well beyond several GBs.

iPhone 5S vs The Note 3

In such a scenario, the iPhone 5S is expected to follow the usual 16, 32 and 64 GB memory configurations that Apple devices have been known for. The Note 3 though is expected start at 32 GB with there being another 64 GB variant as well. However, where the Note 3 could really beat the iPhone 5S is the incorporation of a microSD card slot which can bump the total storage to all the way up to 96 GB. Both these devices will also be using cloud storage but the Galaxy Note 3 will appeal a great deal to those who are looking for plenty of space for games, apps, images, videos and so on.

Another positive aspect of Galaxy Note 3 is likely to be its removable back cover which will allow the battery to be removed easily and replaced by another of higher capacity for those who need more juice out of their device.

Multitasking has been one of the key qualities of the Note 3 and the same is expected to get a major fillip with the Note 3 device, more so since the upcoming device is expected to feature a RAM of 3 GB and a quad core Qualcomm 800 processor.  With that much of processing power as disposal and the large screen real estate, the Note 3 is ideal for multitasking.

Users can easily work with two open apps simultaneously or watch videos while performing other tasks. While the new iOS 7 does incorporate multitasking, the same is not expected to be as extensive and elaborate as on the Note 3. The less screen space is also another reason for the iPhone not been best suited for multitasking.

The Note 3 also comes with an S Pen that can be put inside the device neatly when not in use. The S Pen does add to the functionality of the Note 3 immensely and can be used for quick note taking or for sketching on the device. None of that sort accompanies the iPhone which seriously limits its functionality when compared to the Note 3.

iPhone 5S Release Date, Gold Design Speculation Surrounds

August 20, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

Apart from the home button, which will be made of sapphire, a special edition of the new iPhone 5S will be made available in gold on iPhone 5S release date. The home button will have a concave shape and will be able to read the fingerprint of the owner. Similarly there will be a version that will be made of the usual plastic materials, leaving the user to make a pick.

As the development of the device continues, snippets of information have begun to leak, and some of the information may be true, or false. It may be possible that both versions are being created to target the insanely rich, and those from humble means.

Apple iphone-5s

It is customary for Apple to keep mum about their new products, and this may be simple speculations. Even during development, people do not know what the new names of the products will be. The company has inculcated some secret code of silence amongst its ranks, making it very difficult to get prior information about any of their products. This kind of speculation only serves to heighten the anticipation from iPhone users, and this can be both frustrating and exhilarating at the same time.

People say that the new iOS will be remarkably different from the current one, and this would serve to make the iPhone a truly new device. When people talk of gold, one wonders whether it will be gold in color, or whether it will be made of Gold. People say that part of the iPhone 6 has never been seen before and hence the conjecture that the home button will be made of sapphire.

MG Siegler, a columnist at TechCrunch, has also been written about the novelty of the new iPhone and has said that the company is planning to make a gold/Champagne colored variation. The parts leak that came from the company showed a phone that had a gold-colored case. However, the picture that was leaked may not be an accurate depiction of the phone, hence the suggestion that it could be champagne in color.

According to Siegler, the company may be doing this so as not to provide competition for the iPhone 5C, which is targeted for the low-cost market. This means that people will adopt the 5C in these markets, while the upscale markets will prefer the “Gold” iPhone 5S. Siegler says that most Asians will prefer to buy the gold version, but the price will make most of them buy the 5C instead.

There are rumors that the 5S will be offered in black and white versions, but this is yet to be seen. However, there may not be a change in the pricing, which means that the Gold version will sold-out well before the black and white versions. Apple can neither deny nor confirm any of these rumors so as to avoid a design copycat from stealing from them. They expect to surprise the world at the lunch thereby getting a huge head start against any competing Smartphone. The company says that the unveiling will be done on September 10th.

iPhone 5S With iOS 7 Release Date Latest Rumors of Apple Products

June 15, 2013 By Deborah Cobing 1 Comment

There are two major streams of discussion that has emerged when it comes to Apple and its products. It being the new iOS 7 along with its supposedly groundbreaking features, and the iPhone 5S which is next in line of the iPhone series.

ios-7

Probable release dates of the iPhone 5S has turned out to be a hot topic, with some speculating it to be August while others, the traditionalist, keeping with September. The August speculation is based on notes to investors and also information received from the suppliers Apple is taking the components that would go into the making of the iPhone 5S.

September launch logic goes with the reasoning of the iPhone 5 having been launched in that month last year. Its global availability had been around November and December last year. Possibility of Apple including their iPad Mini Retina, as well as the MacBook Pro is also there. That the latter will have the Haswell processor from Intel is the additional speculation.

The factors that play against the September release date are that there are other mobile devices that would rival the Apple product and are due for release in the months to come. The major mobile makers in this race are Samsung and HTC. The Galaxy Note 3 which will be the newest flagship from Samsung is expected in the US this fall while the HTC One Mini is expected to hit the market during the August-September period.  The exact dates of the HTC One would be confirmed at the IFA event.

Apple has a lot at stake so far as the iPhone 5S goes. They have been facing a downward trend in the stock market. They have no additional device to bring in revenue and their market share is on the decline. A release date late in the year may therefore create problems for Apple in all these aspects and even carry over to 2014.

The iOS 7 is one other Apple related issue which would have some effect on the launch date of the iPhone 5S. This new OS from Apple is supposed to be installed on all the new Apple devices as well as older ones that have a retina display on them. The release of the iOS 7 after smoothening the initial bugs would have to be completed before the iPhone 5S launch as this device would also have iOS 7 at its core.

When it comes to what the iOS 7 has to offer so far as looks and functions go, there are ample YouTube video content available to get a fair knowledge on this. There are however contradictory reports like one concluding the colors are too bright while another states it is just perfect.

The iOS 7 would have telling effect on Apple users for they would either like it so much that they would go on to the iPhone 5S. If they don’t, then the possibility of remaining with their previous variant is there else they may also move on to Android phones which have a wider variety to select from.

One other challenge which Apple would need to consider is Google Play Store making the Android phones available via their web site running the latest Android version in its purest form. Products like Nexus or the Google Edition Galaxy S4 and HTC One sets are some of the devices which are being made available via Google Play Store with no modification to the Android OS.

News about Apple considering the addition of just one color variant to its iPhone 5S makes for this competition which Apple has to face. It would be a better decision if Apple went on to add more such color variations in their sets for the user to select from.

iPhone 5S Will be Available With Vibrant Colors and Dual LED Flash

May 27, 2013 By Georgia Dawson Leave a Comment

All are waiting for the iPhone 5S to hit the stands. Rumors have it that Apple is going to launch a high-end version of the flagship iPhone 5S and it is also going to release budget-friendly version of iPhone 5S with vibrant colors. The Lumia phones introduced by Nokia sport vibrant colors and since then other brands have made attempts to offer their phones in different colors.

iPhone 5S (2)

A reliable source has revealed that Apple is going to out the iPhone 5S flagship phone in black color whereas the lowly-priced iPhone 5S is going to be available in different colors. We are yet to confirm on the predicted colors for the iPhone 5S as different rumor sources are talking about different colors. Navy blue, gold, and Gray are some of the colors revealed by one source. White, pink and yellow are expected colors of the iPhone 5S from another source.

In the month of June, Apple is going to test the cheaper iPhone 5S. The production will swing into action in July and finally the device will be available for customers in September. Tim Cook who is the CEO of Apple had announced that Apple will be releasing some new products in the winter season. The main reason behind why Apple is releasing cheaper version of iPhone 5S is that they have decided to compete with Android and Nokia Lumia phones which are available at much lower price.

Apple’s action of making cheaper iPhone 5S available in different colors clearly indicates that Apple wants to compete with Lumia phones. The Lumia phones not only sport the new Windows Phone OS but also are available in vibrant colors. The sales of all the Lumia phones such as Lumia 620, Lumia 720 and Lumia 920 have been quite impressive. Recent stats shows that the availability of Lumia phones in different colors have also contributed in the increased sales. However, the sales of Windows Phone powered Lumia phones way behind Android OS powered smartphones.

The iOS is said to be the second favorite operating system after Android which indicates making cheaper iPhone 5S available is a great move by Apple to compete with Android. We feel that Lumia phones though are very popular may not be able to compete with the colored iPhone 5S.

Another interesting piece of news about the forthcoming iPhone is that the device is going to sport dual LED flash for the rear cam. Again such a feature has been already seen on various Android and Windows Phone smartphones. Surely, Apple has decided to take up the fight with Android and Windows Phone by focusing on releasing cheaper iPhone 5S.

New iPhone 5S Rumor regarding Home Button to Be Replaced With Sapphire-Crystal Fingerprint Reader

May 16, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

With leading smartphone manufacturers like Samsung and Sony making full efforts in providing unique features to its users, Apple has to do something to offer something unique exclusively for iPhone lovers. The iPhone 5S may be the next iPhone to hit the stands and Apple is already planning to offer something very unique to its patrons.

15-iphone-5s-gets-sapphire-crystal-home-button-report
It is rumored that the iPhone 5S will be replacing the physical home button which it has been using since 2007. The forthcoming iPhone will feature a Sapphire crystal capacitive home button which will be able to detect fingerprint through a hidden sensor. However, we are not sure whether this rumor will really come true. The reason behind it is that since the time iPhone was launched in 2007 with physical home button, every time before the launch of iPhone there were rumors that the next iPhone would feature a capacitive home button.

iPhone users always wanted Apple to do away with the physical home button because the risk of failure of a physical button of not registering a press is more. If the button is capacitive, there is no such risk. And Sapphire crystal which Apple may use for the capacitive button is quite sturdy and scratch-resistant in nature. It will not only appear elegant but also it will protect the fingerprint reader which will be placed beneath the button. Apple has been already using crystal glass cover to protect the rear camera of the iPhone 5.

In the recent past, Apple had purchased a mobile security company called AuthenTec and since then tech analysts were of the view that someday Apple will include a fingerprint reader in the forthcoming reader. Usage of a fingerprint sensor may sound unique but it is not the first time that such a sensor will be used on a smartphone. In the past, Motorola Atrix 4G had a fingerprint sensor onboard.

It is being speculated that the reason behind the delay in launch of iPhone 5S is that there are some problems associated with the fingerprint sensor. It is also believed that “S” in iPhone 5S indicates security. These days, Google and Microsoft have been concentrating in protecting the content of the users through two-step authentication procedure. Apple will also join the bandwagon to make the users a lot more secure while browsing on the web and connecting the iPhone to other devices.

If the rumor comes true, securing data on iPhone will not involve old procedure such as storing, retrieving and manually entering passwords. Simply by reading your fingerprint, your iPhone will become exclusively accessible to you only.
