Asus MeMO Pad FHD LTE 10.1 Will Be The First ASUS Device to Come From AT&T

September 11, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

Amongst the many interesting devices that AT&T is coming up with in their sales line, the ASUS MeMO Pad FHD LTE 10.1 is the first of its kind for AT&T. Never before has AT&T come up with an ASUS product and this one is quite a power house of a device as well. To start with, the ASUS device comes with full HD 10.1 inch display, with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The core processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core chip with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as the operating system. All of the above mentioned tech bits does make for a smooth running device with enough horse power at disposal to take care of the most processor intensive apps as well.

Asus has also thrown in another variant for those who might be interested, one that comes with an Intel Atom chip. Cost of the Intel powered MeMO Pad is a quite modest $399.99 for those who opt for no contract deals. The same device would fetch for $299.99 if a two year contract with AT&T is entered into.

Getting into contract with AT&T services would be a wiser deal as they are offering a few extra offers to go with the tablet, which includes cloud storage worth 16 GB. Other features to look forward to with the Asus MeMO tablet include a 1.2 mp front facing camera along with a 5 mp camera at the rear. Battery capacity of the tablet is a quite impressive 6760 mAh which Asus claims to provide for good runtimes though no figures have been revealed so far.

Another unique feature of the tablet would be the SonicMaster technology that ASUS has used for rendering the audio ability of this device. The technology has been rated very high and experiencing it in real is the only way to judge for it.

Google lines up Asus to manufacture Nexus 10 refresh

August 10, 2013 By Janet Vasquez Leave a Comment

It’s Asus and not Samsung which seems to have been lined up by the largest search engine Google to manufacture its Nexus 10 device refresh. The first Nexus 10 was manufactured by Samsung. The new Nexus 10 is due before the end of the year.

Several tech giants have submitted designs to Google, but it seems like the bidding war has been won by the Asus, the company responsible for both versions of the Nexus 7. Last year Google had added two new types of Nexus devices to the lineup, a 7-inch tablet and a 10-inch tablet.

Sources indicate that this new tablet will be available both in the Google Play store and in Best Buy retail stores.

The latest move clearly indicates that Asus and Google share a good relationship right now. The Nexus 10 wasn’t nearly as popular as the Nexus 7 last year, but in the past 12 months both the Android OS and its apps have grown to better support larger screens and higher resolutions.

Asus MeMo Pad Smart 2 10-Inch Tablet Reaches FCC

May 28, 2013 By Deborah Cobing Leave a Comment

Taiwan based company Asus has a new tablet up its sleeve. The tablet is in the 10 inch category and the good news on this is that we perhaps won’t have to wait too long for the device to arrive. This since the device has already made it to the FCC under the guise of Asus K005. Its mandatory for manufacturers to have their wares approved by the FCC before being deemed fit for use in the US. That being in process, the tablet shouldn’t be too far off from an official launch.

Asus-MeMo-Pad-Smart-2

Coming back to the device in question, it’s apparently the Memo Pad Smart 2 tablet with a full HD display, having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The latter can be considered one of the biggest improvements over the Memo Pad Smart 10 Asus had launched earlier in the year but suffered from a display which at 1280 x 800 pixels is far from being anything even acceptable, let alone being spectacular.

Processing power will come from a 1.7 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chip that has already found application in a number of devices such as the Nexus 4, the Droid DNA, HTC Butterfly, the Sony Xperia Z, LG Optimus G to name just a few.

Among the other specifications the Memo Pad Smart 2 is expected to come with include 16 GB of in built storage though there will also be a microSD card slot to allow for more expansion. The device will come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as well as a range topping 13 megapixel camera at the rear, which should really by a photographer’s delight. The Memo Pad Smart 10 too impressed with a 5 megapixel unit.

Nexus 7 2 with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie? Rumored Specifications Doing Rounds for Google I/O

May 14, 2013 By Janet Vasquez Leave a Comment

The Google I/O is all set to take place on 15th May and rumors are flying about all kinds of new Google products and services like the possibility of unveiling of Android 4.3 or Android 5.0 Key Lime OS and Google Glass. The event is also going to debut the all new Nexus 7 2. As expected, the new smartphone is going to surprise tech enthusiasts thanks to its interesting specs.

The newly leaked server logs of the next gen Nexus tablet – Nexus 7 2 – will be running on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS. Yet again it is an Asus device. Google again makes the new version of Android exclusively available for its Nexus devices. Still, rumors are going on that it may feature Android Key Lime 5.0.

Google Nexus

The tech world is expecting that the new tablet is going to feature new specs at the price of its predecessor device. The tablet will sport a 7 inch LTPS technology display. It comes with a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 (WUXGA). Another cool feature of the Nexus 7 2 is the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 S4 Pro CPU. This makes the Nexus 7 2 the first device to run on the all new Snapdragon CPU.  The lower Snapdragon 600 CPU is running on current smartphones like Galaxy S4 and HTC One.

The Nexus 7 2 is have a rear camera of 5 MP. The predecessor Nexus 7 does not have a rear camera. At the front, there is a HD camera for video chatting. The tablet is going to be priced slightly less than $200. By this you can understand that lot of customers will be attracted towards it and we are expecting lots of preorders.

Thanks to the QuickCharge 2.0 feature, you will be able to charge your Nexus 7 2 in just three hours which would otherwise taken around 7 hours to completely charge it. The 4000mAh battery of the Nexus 7 2 supports wireless charging. Some of the other features include 4G LTE support, very low usage of power, USB 3.0 ports, and supports high-end games like Unity and Unigine.

The Google Nexus 7 2 has got quite a few enticing specifications. The price is certainly going to be the factor that will pace its sales. With powerful specs, Google has completely metamorphosed the Nexus tablet into a very competitive tablet device. We are not sure as to when you can purchase the Nexus 7 2 from the Google Play Store. The Google I/O will surely help us know new information.
