Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date to Bring MicroUSB 3.0 Port Along With it

September 30, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date is yet to arrive in US but confirmed sources have revealed that the South Korean giant will pack in microUSB 3.0 in it. This new feature will allow users to achieve faster data transfers. Also it will allow users to charge devices faster through USB charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was announced on September 4. The device came out after several months of rumors and it is still to arrive in US. The phablet has got a huge 5.7inch display which supports 1080p resolution. It is powered by a meaty qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. It has got a powerful 13MP camera which replaces the 8MP camera that came with Galaxy Note 2.

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3

The Galaxy Note 3 runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS and comes with new S Pen features. The new features on the device offer better multi-tasking than before. The new microUSB 3.0 was the only feature that was missing that has now appeared like a bonus.

So when you get the Galaxy Note 3 and hook it up to your laptop or desktop PC through the new microUSB 3.0 port, your phone will charge faster. This feature will definitely make a difference as the device houses an enormous battery.

As mentioned before, even data transfers can be carried out at faster speeds by using a support USB cable. So, if you are going to use the new Galaxy Note 3 at your job or school, you will definitely benefit from this new feature.

The new microUSB 3.0 supports backward compatibility which means users will be able to connect and use their older microUSB 2.0 cables on this port. However, data transfer speed and charging will occur at a slower pace.

Even though the Galaxy Note 3 comes out in the market, users who are tech-savvy and constantly checking out tech blogs will be well aware of the features of Galaxy Note 3. Major carries like AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon are already disclosed their pricing and release dates. However, US cellular is the only one among the major carriers of US which is yet to announce a release date. Well, US Cellular claims that they will also be offering the Galaxy Note 3 in the coming month.

The iPhone 5S which was released on September 20th has already achieved huge popularity. The initial stocks of the device have already exhausted and the Cupertino company will soon be rolling out newer stocks. The Galaxy Note 3 will certainly come out to disturb the sales of iPhone 5S. However, we feel it won’t do much damage. Soon after the release of Galaxy Note 3, Google’s Nexus 5 is also expected to arrive in the month of October.

As we enter the fourth quarter of the year, the competition between smartphones is getting hotter and hotter. What do you think about the Galaxy Note 3? Will its release date be able to thwart the sales of iPhone 5S?  Also will it be able stay ahead in competition after Google Nexus 5 launch? Do let us know your thoughts.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs HTC One Max- the Battle Ensues Even More As Release Date Nears

September 29, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

The iPhone 5S has arrived and the Google Nexus 5 is going to arrive in the next month. However, one of the much awaited phones is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which is going to arrive in October. The Galaxy Note 3 is a phablet device. Though iPhone 5S and Google Nexus 5 are going to pit against the Note 3, the real competition is going to come from another phablet phone which is the HTC One Max. Well, even the HTC One Max is going to arrive in the middle of October.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a 5.7inch phablet device and the HTC One Max is 6inch phablet device. The HTC One has got which released at the beginning of the year is expected to come out with variants like HTC One Mini and HTC One Max. The original HTC One surprisingly came out to give good competition the Galaxy S4. Here we have got a picture that shows you both HTC One Max and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 kept beside each other.

galaxy note 3 vs htc one max

HTC One Max was expected to arrive in third quarter of the year. However, recently it has been known that the HTC One Max is going to be launched on October 15th. The news has come from Pocket-lint. The Etrade news reveals that the phablet will be unraveled in the home country on October 17th. The dates which we are talking here are only announcement dates and not the dates when the devices will be out in the market for sale.

Once the HTC One Max debuts in the mid-October, it will go on sale during the later days of October. If this comes true, it would mean that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which is expected to release early in October will be available for sales for several weeks in Europe and US. This will give the Korean branded smartphone an edge over the Taiwan branded smartphone.

The flagship HTC One had arrived weeks before Galaxy S4. However, the company did not advertise the product well and in no time Galaxy S4 was able to surpass the popularity of HTC One. AT&T will be launching the Galaxy Note 3 on October 1. On October 2nd, the Note 3 will come on T-Mobile. Sprint will be selling it on from October 4th. Verizon will be selling the device on October 10th.  US Cellular is yet to announce on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date on their network.

HTC One Max will come with a large 6inch display that offers 1080p full HD resolution. It is packed with Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor. It has got the trademark Ultrapixel camera. It has also got Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS backed with HTC Sense 5.5 user interface.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Next Big Release Date Watch Out For After iPhone 5s and 5c

September 27, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

With the iPhone 5S event coming to a pass and its associated euphoria would have now dwindled, the excitement hungry geek crowd would be looking for the “what next” episode. Samsung, a company that has been giving this nerdy crowd a regular feed to focus on is not going to let them down so far as excitement feeds go.

Samsung_Galaxy_Note_3

What this means is that perhaps it’s now time we fix our gaze on the Galaxy Note 3, the successor to the Note 2 device. It’s not too long ago that we have been drooling over the Galaxy Note 3 before being taken over by the tsunami of Apple waves off late. The Galaxy Note 3 is a 5.7 phablet device from Samsung and its US release is expected in the very near future. Samsung had announced its arrival to the world just days ahead of Apple unleashing its new iPhone range. What can’t be denied is that the Galaxy Note 3 can’t be considered as a direct competitor to the iPhone 5s in that the former comes with a stylus and a bigger display both of which allow for far greater functionality that can’t be expected of the iPhone. In contrast, the iPhone is a smartphone in the truest sense of the term. But then, what can’t be denied either is that the iPhone enjoys far more popularity than the Note series of big screen smartphones though the latter still commands a very sizeable fan following of its own.

Also, what makes the Galaxy Note 3 all the more special this time is the Galaxy Gear smartwatch that Samsung has announced. The Galaxy Gear is only compatible with Samsung devices with Note 3 being one of them. Designed as a smart and intelligent extension of the Note 3 device, the Galaxy Gear is feature laden and can be the perfect companion to the Note 3 device.

As has already been revealed, the Note 3 would have a screen of 1080p resolution and the core processor would be a Snapdragon 800 chip. It would carry a 13 MP camera which would also have the ability of recording in 4K. Support for S stylus for input is also another interesting feature to be looked at. Release of the device in the US is going to be anywhere before the end of October. This is unlike previous launches by Samsung which were delayed by several months post their announcement.

Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 have already opened up and all major carriers in the US including AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon are out to woo prospective buyers with their lucrative deals. Also, Sprint is the newest to have joined the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 bandwagon.

September 9, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

The Galaxy Note 3 was announced in the last week. It has come and replaced the Galaxy Note 2. It is one of the most awaited devices in US but still the Korean tech giant has not announced the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date. Still, much information is surfacing about different carriers and their offerings.

Throughout the year, umpteen numbers of rumors came out regarding the new Galaxy Note 3. Finally, the phablet was announced at the IFA event that was held at Berlin, Germany on September 4. The Galaxy Note 3 has come out with a slimmer body and refreshing design. It has got a 5.6inch large display that supports 1080p.

The Galaxy Note 3 is powered with a Snapdragon 800 quad-core CPU and 3GB RAM. It has also got a 13MP camera. Talking of specifications makes us feel that the phone will take the numero spot from Galaxy S4.

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3jpg

Galaxy Note 3 release date is expected to be made available for purchase all over the world in over 140 countries on September 25th. However, the Korean giant plans to launch Galaxy Note 3 in Japan and October for US and Japan Though Galaxy Note 3 is yet to arrive in US, most of the leading carriers in US have already mentioned their plans for the upcoming phablet.

AT&T Galaxy Note 3

If you prefer AT&T’s network, you can go to their website and place a Samsung Galaxy Note pre-order. AT&T is not offering 64GB version of the device. As we thought, AT&T is offering the 32GB variant of Galaxy Note 3 for $300 on a two-year contract. Another deal AT&T is offering is to pay $35 for the 20 months for two years. Lastly, the device can be purchased for one year price of $550.

AT&T will also be offering Galaxy Gear smartwatch in the forthcoming weeks. The Note 3 is going to be made available for shipment from October 1.

T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3

T-Mobile will start selling the phablet from October 2. What’s unique about T-Mobile is that the phablet will be available for purchase without a contract. Buyers will have to pay down payment of $199 through the new T-Mobile JUMP plan. T-Mobile has not started with pre-orders but it has got a dedicated sign up page to get details on Note 3.

As far as Galaxy Gear is concerned, it will be up for sale from Oct 2 for $299. There are no options to get it through JUMP plan.

Sprint Galaxy Note 3

Sprint has not revealed any information on Galaxy Note 3 release date. We expect the phone to arrive on Sprint’s network by this fall. Going by what other leading carriers are offering, the Note 3 will be available with Sprint on a two year contract for $300. The 32GB model will be the variant that will be made available first whereas 64GB may arrive later on but definitely not now.

U.S Cellular Galaxy Note 3

U.S Cellular will be selling the Note 3 in October. However, they have not revealed anything on the plans and pre-order. So, potential buyers who are eagerly waiting to purchase the Note 3 may consider getting it from a different carrier.

We think that even T-Mobile will offer the phablet for $300 on a two year contract. Like AT&T, it will only be offering 32GB variant first and there is no news whether it will offer 64GB or not.

Verizon Galaxy Note 3

Verizon has started receiving pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 3. It is also offering pre-orders for Galaxy Gear smartwatch. On Verizon’s network, the Galaxy Note 3 is available for $300 on a two year contract. The phone is expected to arrive for shipment from October 10.

Verizon is offering the Galaxy Gear along with Galaxy Note 3 for $600. The smartwatch is also available separately for $29.16 with zero down payment along with Verizon Edge plan.

Another interesting pen feature is Screen Write which is nothing but a tool for annotation. Some of the other new pen-related features include S Finder, Pen Window and Scrapbook. Also you get the new updated app of S Note on the Galaxy Note 3.

The Samsung Unpacked event very well made the release date of the Galaxy Note 3 evident by using the tagline ‘Note the date.’ Yes, the date that needs to be noted is Sept 25, 2013 as this will be the day when the Galaxy Note 3 will be released in more than 140 countries. As far as the specs of the Galaxy Note 3 is concerned is that the phone will be available in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB. Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date Features vs. Galaxy Note 3

September 3, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

Samsung Galaxy S4 is ruling the smartphone market. Even phones that somewhat similar or better specs than the Galaxy S4 cannot compete with Galaxy S4. Next year, the Galaxy S4 will be replaced by its successor Galaxy S5. Meanwhile, Samsung is already planning to release their new phablet handset, the Galaxy Note 3 in this week during the Samsung Unpacked 2013 event.

The Galaxy Note 3 release date which is going to happen tomorrow will soon compete with their in-house product Galaxy S5. The popularity of Galaxy S4 is at its peak now but even now rumors of the Galaxy S5 are spreading. We have got some rumored specs of Galaxy S5. Let’s compare it with the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 to see what’s in store for Samsung fans in the future.

samsung galaxy note 3

Design

For all its edition of Samsung Galaxy devices, the Korean tech giant has only used cheap plastic. This is the reason why people had criticized a lot when Samsung rolled out the S4 with plastic body. Remember Samsung Youm?  Earlier, Samsung had unveiled Youm which sported endless display. So, rumors have it that the Galaxy S5 it will come out with aluminum body and flexible display like that of Youm.

The Galaxy Note 3 will definitely not sport an endless display also it will come with the boring plastic design. However, it is the internal specs of the phablet that will mow down the other leading smartphones of the present times.

Galaxy S5, Note 3 Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is predicted to feature a 16MP camera which means it has more megapixels than what is expected on Galaxy Note 3. The Note 3 will sport 13MP lens along with optical image stabilization. The OIS is also feature which will come with the Galaxy S5.

Display
Apple is rumored to be working on a edge-to-edge display for iPhone 6. So, if this is to come true even Samsung should do something similar to compete with next year’s iPhone. It is rumored that the Galaxy S5 will have a 5inch full HD 1080p Super AMOLED edge-to-edge display.

Samsung was rumored to offer flexible OLED display on Note 3 but this is not going to happen. It will have a Super AMOLED display with full HD support. The display screen size of this phablet will be 5.68 inches.

Hardware
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to be available in two CPU versions. One will be Exynos 5420 CPU which will deliver a clocking speed of 1.8GHz. Another will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU which will deliver a clocking peed of 2.3GHz.

Experts are not talking much about the CPU details of Galaxy S5. So, may be a powerful octa-core CPU in two variants may be on the way. As far as the RAM is concerned, the Galaxy Note is rumored to come out with 3GB RAM. Tech gurus are of the view that even the Galaxy S5 will house a 3GB RAM.

Software
The Galaxy Note 3 will be running on the latest Android OS, the 4.3 Jelly Bean version. Since the Android 4.3 is not a ‘major’ update, we think that the Galaxy S5 will be blessed with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie or may even come with the existing Android 4.3 OS.

Release Date of Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S5

Samsung’s best smartphones of the future will be releasing soon. The Galaxy Note 3 will be unveiled tomorrow and the release date in the United States will happen in less than 2 weeks if all goes well.

Where as Samsung has the habit of launching the S series smartphones in Mid March and same is expected for Galaxy S5 release date.

Galaxy Note 3 Features: 5 Advantages Over The iPhone 5S Release Date

September 1, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

We are on the verge of being pampered with the new iPhone 5S as well as the Galaxy Note 3 release dates. Both the devices will be out in the coming weeks and will woo consumers with a great deal of features. While the Note 3 is likely to be launched on September 4, just a few days down the line, the September 10 Apple event is expected to yield the new iPhone 5S. Or in other words, there is a royal battle in the offing the stakes of which will be unusually high this time round.

This since Samsung has rapidly climbed on consumer acceptance on the back of some impressive device launches during the last few years. Apple on the other hand, has been able to maintain the lead but there seems a sizeable chunk of its user base who won’t mind to shift camps if there is a better device for the taking. Also, the Apple flagship could be seen puny in the face of other ‘flagship devices’ such as the HTC One Max, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra as well the Note 3.

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3

Galaxy Note 3 Features

Although both these devices are expected to outsmart one another in many respects, a keen look at their features will help in finding out as to which of the two is the better device. A number of leaks in recent times have also given a clear picture as to which of the two will be more in demand. None of the two can be declared a cleared winner over the other. However, there does exists some areas where the Note 3 can be considered to have a clear advantage over the iPhone. Mentioned here are just some of the aspects where the iPhone can be found lacking vis-à-vis the Note 3.

If rumors are considered, the Note 3 will feature a full HD 5.7 inch display whereas the iPhone 5S will be featuring the same 4 inch Retina display like its predecessor, the iPhone 5. The large screen space is a boon for those who appreciate it. It makes for a great movie or video watching experience given the bigger display, something that is not quite possible in the iPhone 5S owing to the smaller screen size. It is for the same reason that the Galaxy Note 3 can be considered ideal for the gamers as well as the ones hooked onto reading. True there are many who prefer a more handy and compact device when it comes to a smartphone though the added advantage that the bigger display of the Note 3 can’t de denied either.

Internal memory is turning out to be a major issue with smart connected devices in the digital age what with there being so much to deal with and store these days. Smartphones as it stands right now are not only for making voice or video calls or for connecting to the internet. Manufacturers rather harp on other most sought after qualities of smartphones regularly. These include watching movies and videos, playing games, listening to music, taking pictures and so on. And all of these does make a substantial amount of memory mass, which can go well beyond several GBs.

iPhone 5S vs The Note 3

In such a scenario, the iPhone 5S is expected to follow the usual 16, 32 and 64 GB memory configurations that Apple devices have been known for. The Note 3 though is expected start at 32 GB with there being another 64 GB variant as well. However, where the Note 3 could really beat the iPhone 5S is the incorporation of a microSD card slot which can bump the total storage to all the way up to 96 GB. Both these devices will also be using cloud storage but the Galaxy Note 3 will appeal a great deal to those who are looking for plenty of space for games, apps, images, videos and so on.

Another positive aspect of Galaxy Note 3 is likely to be its removable back cover which will allow the battery to be removed easily and replaced by another of higher capacity for those who need more juice out of their device.

Multitasking has been one of the key qualities of the Note 3 and the same is expected to get a major fillip with the Note 3 device, more so since the upcoming device is expected to feature a RAM of 3 GB and a quad core Qualcomm 800 processor.  With that much of processing power as disposal and the large screen real estate, the Note 3 is ideal for multitasking.

Users can easily work with two open apps simultaneously or watch videos while performing other tasks. While the new iOS 7 does incorporate multitasking, the same is not expected to be as extensive and elaborate as on the Note 3. The less screen space is also another reason for the iPhone not been best suited for multitasking.

The Note 3 also comes with an S Pen that can be put inside the device neatly when not in use. The S Pen does add to the functionality of the Note 3 immensely and can be used for quick note taking or for sketching on the device. None of that sort accompanies the iPhone which seriously limits its functionality when compared to the Note 3.

Release Date

Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy Note 3 on September 4 and the release date of note 3 on different carriers in the United States (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, U.S. Cellular, Sprint) might happen within the next 2 weeks of unveiling.

As for the Galaxy S5 release date, this can happen in next year’s March. But all is now rumored however Samsung has been following the tradition of releasing the extensions of their flagship smartphones for the past 2 years at a particular time every year. And same can be expected for Note 3 and Galaxy S5 release date.

Samsung Galaxy Note S Pen

Even though a lot is being said about the new S Pen on tech sites, there is not much revelation on the features or design of the new stylus which can witness on the release date. However, it is in the news that during the new Developer Conference very soon Samsung will be revealing detailed information of the new features of the S Pen. This is clear evidence that Samsung is working on a new S Pen for the Galaxy note 3 at the IFA event.

Recently, Samsung purchased five percent stake of the company called Wacom. It is the company that manufactures the S Pen. With every new version of the Galaxy Note, the S Pen is also updated with each release. So, we can definitely a new update is in store for the S Pen for the release date of Galaxy Note 3.

The Samsung Developers Conference is slated to be held on October 27 and will continue for two days at San Francisco. As of now, nothing much is known about the event. What we know is that there is going to be a detailed session on the new S Pen. An insider has revealed that the session will last for about fifty minutes. This shows that Samsung much things to reveal about the new S Pen and its new features.

Samsung has even gone head to register an exclusive domain for marketing the new S Pen. The website is samsungpenup.com. We are not sure when the new website will be made active. The S Pen on the Galaxy Note 2 was more sensitive and thicker than the one present on the original Galaxy Note and it also brought new features.

The Galaxy Note 2 S Pen can be used to write quick commands to control the phablet. The Air View feature allowed users to simply hover the S Pen over content like email or photo to view more of it. The Pop Up Note feature launched new S Pen note whenever user pulls out the S Pen for use.

We will have to wait little more to know what game plan Samsung has adopted for the release date of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs HTC One Features, Carriers, Before Note 3 Release Date

August 27, 2013 By Troy Rubenson 2 Comments

Initially, when the HTC One was launched, it got into a heated competition with the Galaxy S4 after its release to see which one will capture a bigger part of the smartphone market. However, the Galaxy S4 easily outclassed the HTC One’s market share. The HTC One had released before the Galaxy S4 came into the market but because of the poor marketing strategy of HTC One, the Taiwanese manufacturer completely lost out on competiting with the Galaxy S4.

Now, it is pretty much in the news that Samsung will unveil their new phablet phone, the Galaxy Note 3 in September.

Galaxy Note 3 release date is almost here, September 4. All the previous editions of Galaxy Note had become immensely popular. So, Samsung fans already feel that the Note 3 will soon grab the number one spot. For HTC One, it is yet another competitive phone to enter the market.

The Taiwanese giant is going to announce the arrival of their phablet phone, the HTC One Max. However, there is no official info on HTC One Max except that the phablet will come out in the fourth quarter of the year. Some experts are even of the view that HTC might time the release of HTC One Max alongside Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Until, the HTC One Max arrives, the HTC One which has been in US since April will defend the Galaxy Note 3’s attack. In April, the HTC One was released on AT&T’s network, followed by T-Mobile and Sprint. However, the HTC One has recently arrived on Verizon Wireless’s network in this month. Rumors has it that as soon as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be announced at the Samsung Unpacked 2013 event, the handset will be readily made available for sale in US.

Design – Metallic Design vs Plastic Body
If you look at the design of both the handsets, that both the manufactures have used different materials for building the exterior of the phone. The HTC One sports a metal body whereas the makers of Samsung of using plastic for building the exterior of Note.

Even though the metallic design gives the HTC One a sophisticated appeal, the device does neither come with microSD memory card slot nor the battery is removable. With Samsung, you don’t face such problems but the plastic design does make it appear cheaper. Since the Note 3 is a phablet device, it will be larger in size and probably weigh more than 143g of HTC One.

Display – Huge Display vs Large Display
Samsung has been increasing the size of the display on its Note line of devices with every release. The Galaxy Note 3 will house a 5.7 or 5.8inch display with support for 1080p. On the other hand, the comparatively smaller display of HTC One sports a display of 4.7inches that also supports 1080p.

Camera – High Megapixel vs UltraPixel
The camera of the Galaxy Note is predicted to sport an 13MP lens. Moreover, experts feel that the new camera lens on the Note 3 will surely support high resolution photos and videos in low-lighting conditions. It is also rumored to come with Optical Image Stablization feature. On the other hand, the HTC One has an UltraPixel technology powerd 4MP camera. Even though the count of MP is low, it is still one of the best camera smartphones out there. It also supports OIS.

OS – Android + TouchWiz UI vs Android + HTC Sense UI
The HTC One is rumored to receive the Android 4.3 udpate soon. The Taiwanese manufacturer is also running the latest HTC Sense 5 UI on it which gives the handset its distinct appeal. It comes with two popular exclusive features, HTC BlinkFeed and HTC Zoe. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will come with Android 4.3 out of the box and it will also support the latest version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.

The Galaxy Note 3 will also come with an S-pen, which means the addition of extra software. It will have a multitasking feature which will make it ideal for business applications. They have exemplified how you can make use of Android without filling the phone with a lot of software. The HTC One lacks a stylus. Most of the touch-sensitive devices do not come with stylus. If you want one, you will have to buy it separately.

Carriers and Pricing
Except on U.S Cellular, the HTC One is available on the four major carriers in US. US tech pundits know it pretty it well how long it took HTC One to arrive on Verizon’s network. As soon as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 debuts, it will be made available on all the popular carriers including the U.S. Cellular. Till now, Samsung has not released their phablet devices on smaller carriers. However, some experts are of the view that may be this year Samsung will consider making the Note 3 available on smaller carriers.

Again, nothing has been revealed about the price of the Galaxy Note 3. However, since it is going to arrive on major carriers, like always we feel it will be available for usual price tag of 299USD. Instead of 16GB storage variant, Samsung may start offering 32GB storage variant as the base model from this year. The HTC One’s 64GB edition is available on AT&T’s network for 299USD. This makes the HTC One much more affordable than Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy Note 3.

In the recent past, some retailers like Amazon have started reducing the price of HTC One. When the Galaxy Note 3 arrives, we don’t feel that the Korean tech giant will consider offering discounts so soon. Moreover, when the Galaxy Note 3 arrives chances are there that the HTC One’s may reduce even more
