Samsung Galaxy S5 Could Come With a 4 GB RAM, 64 Bit Exynos 6 Series Processor

October 30, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

Talk about the Samsung Galaxy S5 has been gaining heat and ground and especially so after Samsung announced that it would be released earlier than what it had been scheduled for. The reason for this change of schedule by Samsung has not been clarified by the company. However, it can safely and quite surely be assumed that the ‘perceived’ low sales of the Samsung Galaxy S4 model which they launched this year, is the cause. Perceived because Samsung has earlier stated the Galaxy S4 has already gone past the 40 million sales figure mark but hasn’t stated how much their expectations have been. So there is no way one can assume by how much the seemingly decent looking sales figure has missed the sales mark.

S4

With the talk about Samsung Galaxy S5 coming up, the first thing that has been speculated is the 4 GB of RAM that it would come with. For optimal usage of the high volume of RAM the handset would have the 64-bit Exynos processor installed in it. As of now the handsets use the Exynos 5-series processors. The new one to be used on the Samsung Galaxy S5 would form the Exynos 6-series of processors. It is the 64 bit architecture that this processor is based upon which helps in optimal usage of the 4 GB RAM that the S5 is rumored to come with. As of now the mobile devices with their current line of processors can handle a maximum of 3 GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features a 3 GB RAM, the highest for any mobile device from the company so far.

Date of launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S5 with its 64 bit architecture based chip and 4 GB of RAM is not yet known. Everything is under production stage as yet, but the steam has been put on to hurry up the process. Samsung has a market to hold and time does play an important part in this era where competition is hotting up almost every other day.

New Galaxy S5 Could Come With Sony Camera Sensor of 16 MP Resolution

October 23, 2013 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

Samsung had launched their Galaxy S4 this year and after an initial round of brisk sales when it was believed to out sell even the iPhone 5, sales began to slump. To cater for their market presence, Samsung it appears have decided to come out with their next device the Galaxy S5 earlier than its scheduled deliverance. For this reason the S5 can be expected to be in the market by early 2014.

ETNews also adds that the S5 is going to come with a camera which would be of 16 MP resolution and based on CMOS technology. The camera could be either an in-house development by Samsung’s own LSI division or could be a Sony make. The LSI division at Samsung does the manufacturing of chip and the camera sensors. This division gives a strong competition to Sony who is otherwise the market leaders when it comes to high resolution CMOS based devices.

In the aspect of sensing devices, LSI is also going to come out with an 8 MP camera that would have the ability to separate the pixels. This would lead to reduction in glare and noise of the final product while also allowing users to take clear pictures even in low light conditions. LSI division has also been showing off it 13 and 16 MP sensors to prospective customers.

Where Sony has an edge over the LSI is that they cater to a larget segment of the market and hence enjoy economies of scale. Naturally their products are cheaper. LSI is therefore also going ahead with mass production processes to be able to match Sony for the pricing aspect. They would be trying out their end product on the Elctro-Mechanics division at Samsung itself which has been developing a 13 MP sensor having OIS technology in it,

Insiders at Samsung have also confirmed that there is a big thing so far as the sensor goes in the next Samsung product of S5. No way they can miss out on this aspect given the huge improvement that its competitors such as Apple, Sony, Nokia an such have affected on their devices.

Galaxy S5 Release Date in Next Spring with a New Design 3.0 Theme by Samsung

August 13, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

Samsung Galaxy S5, the future smartphone is being talked about more than the current Galaxy S4. The reason is all too obvious, the S4 failed to keep the initial momentum it generated long enough, something exemplified by the flagging sales of the Samsung flagship device within just months of it making to the market.

However, for those who might have been thinking the Galaxy S5 release date is just round the corner and will come as a quick fix solution to the Galaxy S4 imbroglio, well the release date of Galaxy S5 shouldn’t be expected before spring next year.

As it is, launching a smartphone that vies to be among the worlds’ best is never an easy tasks and does involve a lot of careful planning. Such an endeavor also calls for a lot of financial backing, something that can pose a lot of stress on the finances of a company even as big as Samsung.

Meanwhile, with details of the upcoming S4 successor has been few and far between, there have been rumors of Samsung adopting a new design theme with the new Galaxy S5, something that they’d like to refer to as Design 3.0.

This new design theme will be applicable to future Samsung smartphone devices and will introduce sweeping changes to the handset’s interior as well as exterior. However, there are little to no chances of Design 3.0 being applicable to the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 that is scheduled to launch on September 4.

Samsung has also been doing active research with flexible display which it has been showing off at almost all major tech shows this year. Also, while both the Galaxy S4 and Note 3 were linked to the flexible display, it eventually didn’t make it to the S4 and Note 3 too is unlikely to feature a flexible display as well.

We got to wait some more time for more details to emerge, which can be confirmed only in the spring on Galaxy S5 release date.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date Rumored to Come With a Metal Body

June 14, 2013 By Deborah Cobing Leave a Comment

Samsung have been designing their Galaxy series of Smartphone’s with a plastic body. This is about to change if the talk that is going on comes true, and there is high probability of it being so.

The rumors doing the rounds is Samsung adding one more to their line of Galaxy models and this time it would be Galaxy S5. The second part of the talk mentions about the device having an aluminum body and not the plastic one which has been the choice of material for all their flagship devices till now.

S4

Samsung has good reasons for this change, as its previous release, the Samsung Galaxy S4 had to compete against the likes of HTC One and iPhone5, both of which sport metal body. Samsung followers also have been continuously demanding a change from plastic. All these factors add up to the possibility of the Samsung Galaxy S5 being made up of other material than plastic, being very high.

There is however the Galaxy Note 3 which is expected soon, that would have the same plastic body. It would only be with the proverbial Galaxy S5 model that the aluminum body can be expected and the general layout of the device would be as per Samsung Design 3.0 is what the talks mention.

Samsung must surely be having some prototype designs in place and is in the process of eliminating or selecting the most probable one to be the Samsung Galaxy S5 finally. Samsung has not confirmed or given any indication of the shift from plastic to anything else till now.

There is the issue of the shift from plastic body leading to the fixed back design. This would mean the microSD card slot also not being available on the phone. Other possibility being presumed is the display being made of unbreakable material. All these even if it happens should not be expected before spring 2014.
