Google Fiber Is Now Testing Its Upcoming Phone Services

January 31, 2016 By Deborah Cobing Leave a Comment

google fiberGoogle Fiber is now testing its upcoming services, since Google is now looking to introduce a modern phone support for its many Google Fiber customers. Those who have been following the actions of the search engine in the last years already know that its Fibers Phone system does not works as it was initially expected.

With it, all members of this service can utilize one contact number for each gadget they own, from mobile phones to land lines. In addition, they will also get some of the useful features found in Google Voice, too: voicemails provided as e-mails to the users’ in-boxes, junk filtering, call filtering and the mute mode, to name only a few accessories.

Currently, the company’s Fibers Phone service is only offered to people who were invited to take part in the system. Google only welcomed clients who joined its Trusted Tester plan, which is basically the opt-in try out version.

If you are among those lucky people, you will receive a special letter from the search engine asking if you are willing to participate in this program. Then you have only a few as days to answer to their request so, if you are interested and are chosen to partake in it, Google sends a specialist to your house to set the support.

You have to keep in mind that testing the new Fiber Phone from Google will need a service check out in which Fibers group experts will arrive to the customer’s home to setup a device. If you are chosen for the Trusted Tester team, the company will be looking for their feedback, both positive and negative.

This feedback will help them to enhance the Fiber Phone system once they release it to the rest of their clients, the company’s representatives have written in the official e-mail. The clients have also to remember that this Trusted Tester plan gives them early accessibility to functions that are not available to other people, so they are asked to keep this service private.

As tech journalists noticed, Google’s strategy, if it is released to all members of Google fiber, would lastly make the search engine a triple provider, for data, voice and TV. That would place the company at a similar level with its competitors like Comcast that, of course, have much bigger marketplaces right now compared to Google’s quick Fiber system.

And it may be an important step to the search engine gradually developing the Project Fi support too, which is the company’s lower-cost cellular platform piggybacking on both Sprint and T-Mobile’s systems.
