New Google Nexus 7 2 Updates Fixes Problems of Touchscreen, GPS Issues

August 24, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

In the new Nexus 7 software update Google has managed solving two major flaws that affected the Nexus 7 2 device. The Web giant has tried tackling the touchscreen issues and also of that related to the GPS. Since last July owners of the tablet have been battling with these two problems mostly.

Earlier this month complaints flooded the support page of Google and other forums and blogs related to touchscreen of Nexus 7 2. The screen became highly sensitive certain times that resulted with problems in dragging the icons. Some owners even complained the screen would register double presses on the keyword and also some fake taps.

Also, in the GPS related issues Nexus 7 2 owners pointed the device sometimes goes on “Searching Mode” of its own by losing connection. Others also complained they are unable to get GPS connection at all.

Touchscreen, GPS Issues Fixed With Nexus 7 2 Update

GottaBeMobile tech focused website wrote, “Fortunately, it looks like Google took notice of the issue as Google has confirmed that the Nexus 7 will be getting an update to fix those touchscreen issues. The confirmation was made on Google’s product forums and the company claims that the software is rolling out to Nexus 7′s to address the problem. There is no elaboration so it’s unclear if the update is aimed directly at this issue or if there are other things on board as well.”

As of now, Google has not elaborated whether it is just a software update to address to the major issues or an Android update.

Problems to the Nexus devices are not new. Earlier, in the original Nexus 7 device complaints about bugs with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean were reported.

Nexus 7.2 Exclusively Available With Android 4.3 Ready for Sale From July 24th

July 23, 2013 By Troy Rubenson 1 Comment

These days you can see every other brand manufacturing ‘iPad killer’ devices to thwart the sales of Apple devices. Here comes the new iPad Mini killer. The Nexus 7.2 is the successor device for Nexus 7. The new Google Nexus 7.2 is going to be available with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box. The device will be available for sale from the 24th of July and by the end of this month it will be available through stores in US.

The device was not present at the Google I/O event that was held earlier this year. However, Google had already reserved the Nexus 7 to be out in the stands in July. The news about the release date of Nexus 7.2 was confirmed at the San Francisco event which was held recently. According to Engadget, Google has upped the price of the next gen Nexus 7. The 16GB version which was priced at $199 for Nexus 7 will be priced be at $229 for Nexus 7.2. The 32GB version which was priced at $229 for Nexus 7 will be priced be at $269 for Nexus 7.2.

What’s special about the Nexus 7.2 is that it is going to be the first tablet to have the latest Jelly Bean version running on it coupled with quad-core 1.5GHz CPU (may be of Snapdragon 600 or 800 class). The latest Android will sport a 5MP camera at its rear and it will also have a 1.2MP camera seated at the front. The size of the display is 7inch and it will support 1080p full HD resolution.

The Nexus 7.2 will also feature wireless charging feature for the first time in its Nexus tablet range. The details on other specs are not clear at the moment but we are only one day shy from the Nexus 7.2 release date. The design of the tablet is going to be quite similar to that of the original Nexus. However, we expect the device to be thinner than the original device. Since it comes with LTE connectivity, the device should be available on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon networks very soon.

In this year, Android fans were longing to see Android 4.3 device and finally now the Nexus 7.2 brings to the newest and greatest edition of Android Jelly Bean. However, the newest Android OS update does not come with many features. Users who did Android 4.2 update on their Nexus 7 device faced plenty of issues. We hope the new upgraded version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will surely take care of all those issues.

Even though the device is iPad Mini killer, it does not seem that Apple will launch the iPad Mini 2 (rumored to come with Retina Display) very soon. This means that if Nexus 7.2 manages to grab the numero uno spot, it will continue to stay there for a long time. Well, the release of Kindle Fire HD 2 is around the corner. By September, we expect to see Kindle Fire HD 2 on sale. Till then, Nexus 7.2 will surely manage sizeable number of customers.

Nexus 7 2? What You Shouldn’t Be Expecting about Google Next Tablet

May 25, 2013 By Troy Rubenson 1 Comment

People who attended the Google I/O and those who watched it live on the web were eagerly waiting for the announcement of Nexus 7 2. However, Google did not say anything about it.  It only announced a Nexus device which was the Samsung Galaxy S4 Nexus. The Nexus 7 2 will be announced by Google in the near future. Since Google has not given out any details on the upcoming Nexus 7 sequel, potential customers are clueless as to what in store for them.

nexus-7-2

Still, rumors are doing rounds that the Nexus 7 2 will be rolled out in the month of July which is the same time in previous year when Nexus 7 was launched. Some of the rumored specs of Nexus 7 2 include 7inch full HD 1080p display, quad-core CPU, and 2GB RAM. Many users of Nexus 7 have complained about slow charging, so we feel the sequel edition will offer faster charging. Here are some things that you should not be expecting from the Nexus 7 2:

Same Design
Even though the device is not been revealed yet, the Nexus 7 2 will not sport the same design as its predecessor. Think about Nexus smartphones. The Nexus One sported a different design as compared to Nexus S. Even other Nexus smartphones like Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4, all have got different designs. So, it is quite evident that the Nexus 7 2 may appear slimmer or have less weight in a bid to offer distinctive design.

Difference in Cost
Google will be aiming at lowering the sales of the Apple iPad mini. One way through which Google can disturb iPad mini’s sales is to offer their device at a lower price. The iPad mini can be availed for $330 whereas the Nexus 7 can be yours for $199. We feel that when Nexus 7 2 will be launched, it will be priced between $199 and $250.

8GB Variant
In July 2012, Google had debuted two types of Nexus 7, 8GB and 16GB version. Both supported Wi-Fi. However, Google released the 3G edition of Nexus 7, the 8GB variant was discontinued and a 32GB variant was introduced. So, when it comes to Nexus 7 2, we don’t think Google will release 8GB variant of the device. They will rather opt to provide the customers with 32GB version. So when Nexus 7 2 is rolled in the market, 16GB and 32GB variants will be made available to the market.

External Memory
The original Nexus 7 did not come with expandable memory slot. Even though customers have asked repeatedly to provide external memory slot, Google hasn’t paid any heed to their requests. Going by this, we feel the Nexus 7 2 will come with larger inbuilt storage space and also good cloud storage space.

Google Nexus 7 2 – 2nd Generation Tablet Specifications and Flavored Rumors

May 19, 2013 By Janet Vasquez 9 Comments

Google is examining with variations in hardware. The second generation Nexus 7 is likely to endorse a sturdier and fancier build than its predecessor. Google’s affordable and utility 7-inch tablet is supposed to hit the shelves in July. Previously, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the second gen Nexus 7 will be unveiled at Google I/O Conference 2013, but sadly all such rumors were left shattered.

Google Nexus 7 was a much adored tablet of 2013 due to its affordability and utility specs. But, arrival of Apple iPad mini stole the spotlight, endorsing a similar price tag and iOS. Next gen iPad Mini has been delayed in its launch and is supposed to release after Fall this year, around October. Google is currently trying its hands at stylization of hardware that it satisfactorily implemented in Nexus 7. But ChromeBook Pixel and Nexus 4 were notches above Nexus 7 in hardware.

Nexus 4 is an adorable smartphone with a spectacular outlook and is more attractive than its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Samsung Nexus 10 operated stock Android and is not comparable with iPad 4 over hardware and design but is certainly more pleasing than Nexus 7.

ChromeBook pixel has endorsed Google’s intellect in design and hardware. Anodized aluminum case is a premium material utilized in ChromeBook pixel in combination with a HD touch screen display. The disguised distracting parts like speakers, screws and vents visually stylize ChromeBook pixel.  It is expected that Google will abide by dynamic standards of design in its upcoming Nexus 7 2.

Reportedly, Nexus 7 2 will endorse a sturdy matte hind cover finish and a slim bezel redolent of the iPad Mini. Second gen Nexus is likely to boast a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, a 1290*1200 p display with a pixel density of 323 ppi and also a 5 MP camera. The 4G LTE Nexus 7 2 will probably debut with Android Key Lime Pie v.5.0, which would then be its most startling spec.

Nexus 7 2 with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie? Rumored Specifications Doing Rounds for Google I/O

May 14, 2013 By Janet Vasquez Leave a Comment

The Google I/O is all set to take place on 15th May and rumors are flying about all kinds of new Google products and services like the possibility of unveiling of Android 4.3 or Android 5.0 Key Lime OS and Google Glass. The event is also going to debut the all new Nexus 7 2. As expected, the new smartphone is going to surprise tech enthusiasts thanks to its interesting specs.

The newly leaked server logs of the next gen Nexus tablet – Nexus 7 2 – will be running on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS. Yet again it is an Asus device. Google again makes the new version of Android exclusively available for its Nexus devices. Still, rumors are going on that it may feature Android Key Lime 5.0.

Google Nexus

The tech world is expecting that the new tablet is going to feature new specs at the price of its predecessor device. The tablet will sport a 7 inch LTPS technology display. It comes with a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 (WUXGA). Another cool feature of the Nexus 7 2 is the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 S4 Pro CPU. This makes the Nexus 7 2 the first device to run on the all new Snapdragon CPU.  The lower Snapdragon 600 CPU is running on current smartphones like Galaxy S4 and HTC One.

The Nexus 7 2 is have a rear camera of 5 MP. The predecessor Nexus 7 does not have a rear camera. At the front, there is a HD camera for video chatting. The tablet is going to be priced slightly less than $200. By this you can understand that lot of customers will be attracted towards it and we are expecting lots of preorders.

Thanks to the QuickCharge 2.0 feature, you will be able to charge your Nexus 7 2 in just three hours which would otherwise taken around 7 hours to completely charge it. The 4000mAh battery of the Nexus 7 2 supports wireless charging. Some of the other features include 4G LTE support, very low usage of power, USB 3.0 ports, and supports high-end games like Unity and Unigine.

The Google Nexus 7 2 has got quite a few enticing specifications. The price is certainly going to be the factor that will pace its sales. With powerful specs, Google has completely metamorphosed the Nexus tablet into a very competitive tablet device. We are not sure as to when you can purchase the Nexus 7 2 from the Google Play Store. The Google I/O will surely help us know new information.
