New iOS 7.0.3 Update Solves Accelerometer Error to Within Acceptable Limits

October 25, 2013 By Deborah Cobing Leave a Comment

Immediately after the launch of its iOS7 some bugs had been reported which had a direct effect on the sensors of the handset causing them to malfunction. The accelerometer had also been reading 2 to 3 degrees off the mark and Apple had been working on these issues. An update to the OS has been released by Apple which appears to have corrected these issues as per a report from VentureBeat.

ios7

The accelerometer error has been reduced to one degree from the 3 degree that was existing. The one degree off the mark is an acceptable error range. Gamers now would have better gaming experience and their complaints would also be nullified now. Users of the Level application would also feel the difference with the corrected accelerometer.

When the problem had first surfaced, the general talk had been that the accelerometer which has been supplied by a new supplier to Apple was malfunctioning. That the error could be corrected with a software patch does not necessarily mean that the hardware problem did not or does not exist. Apple could very well have included a recalibration of the accelerometer in the software patch, and therefore the hardware error has been negated for now.

Other features that the 7.0.3 update gets to its users are related to the iCloud Keychain management which relates to passwords. A complex password generator has been included into the OS now. Also a delay has been incorporated in the slide motion required for the TouchId activation to take place. There was a problem with the iMessages App which too seems to have been addressed. Users can now create accounts or activate the accounts as the need may be which was previously not happening in many instances.

iOS 7 Causing Motion Sickness, Nausea, Headache And Such Amongst Users

October 6, 2013 By Sebastian Mc’Mannen Leave a Comment

The new iOS 7 launched just a few weeks back amidst lot of fanfare accompanied by the two new iPhone devices has already found itself in the midst of some negative criticism. Apple also introduced two new iPhone versions, iPhone 5s and the 5c which came with the new iOS pre-loaded on them while owners of the old version of the iPhone had to download the new OS and install the same on their devices.

ios7 Motion Sickness

The new OS was supposed to be having features which made it more interesting for the user. However, that is not how things turned out to be at least for some out there. For immediately after release and usage by the people, the first problem was reported which related to a flaw in the security of the OS. People were able to open up the device without going through the installed security feature. This was immediately attended to by Apple and a new version update was released within a few days.

A new issue has now cropped up and this is relating to people experiencing motion sickness due to some of the animation playing on the device with iOS 7. The animation played when opening or closing of an app is causing this effect on the user watching the screen. The icons zoom in and out during this transition making users experience nausea. It is not that this zoom in and out effect was not present in previous version of the iOS. It is just that with iOS 7 the effect is a bit more pronounced than before, so much that there have been a number of users who have reported experiencing headache and other related discomfort that occurs when the eye is stimulated vigorously. A number of post to this effect has been flooding the forums related to iOS. All of them have a common request, which is to know the process for switching off the animations. Unfortunately, there is no such process as of now in iOS 7.

iOS 5, iOS 6 Old iOS user updates, Apple allowing Older Versions of iOS to Download Latest Apps

September 28, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson

One of the main problems facing users who might still have been holding on to the older Apple devices was their incompatibility with the latest apps that have flooded the Apple App Store. It was like users with a device which ran on iOS 5 were unable to download the applications whose minimum requirement has been the iOS 6. Users of the older device were therefore left stranded completely.

Apple Apps

Apple has changed that policy so that users of older devices would now be able to download the application without any fuss. So if the user running iOS 5 finds an application useful and wants to download, the link would take the user to the correct version of the app. That is the one which would run on iOS 5 version of the OS. The current version of the app would be applicable for iOS 6 and later only in all probability. Users with older devices of Apple and which could not be upgraded also so far as the OS is concerned can now breathe easy.

The problem of users with unsupported OS version occurs as the makers of the device keep updating their operating systems though users in many cases do not do so. The frequency at which the makers like Apple change their OS version makes it difficult for the users to keep their gadgets updated. This leads to something known as fragmentation. While Android devices suffer much greater fragmentation, that the same also applies to Apple has become evident with this move of Apple to support older version with apps of compatible version.

Though the news is relief for the older version users, there is yet the issue of their application not having all the features which the new application would have. Application that aids the user in day to day functions would be those that most affect the user.

Apple iOS 7 Update on iPhone, iPad, iPod, Screen Lock Issue Solved With iOS 7.0.2 Update

September 28, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

iOS 7 was released on Sept 18th and within ten days Apple has rolled a new update for the OS. The new update that has been immediately rolled out is mainly to fix the lock screen issue of the phone. The problem with the lock screen was found very quickly after the new iOS7 was released. At that time Apple had told that they were working on resolving the issue.

ios-7.0.2

The bug with the lock screen was such that users were able to go pass the lock screen without manually entering the pass code. By bypassing the lock screen users were able to make calls, share photos and view apps that were used recently. Apple has rolled out the iOS 7.0.2 update mainly to fix this issue. Apple has added Greek keyboard option in the new update for entering the pass code. The Greek keyboard was not found in iOS’s previous version.

As soon as the update was made available, huge numbers of iOS devices were updated to the latest iOS 7.0.2 update. If you are also interested in performing the update, you can go to Settings menu and then tap on General and then again tap on Software Update. The new update is also available over the air. Alternatively, you can check for the updates through iTunes on your PC. If you do not want to rely on your wireless network’s speed then this option will be quite good for you.

The flaw that was found with the iOS 7 after its release made global headlines. Depending on the iDevice that people are using, the size of the update varies from 17MB to 21MB. On the iPhone 5, the update is only of 21NV

Recently, we had reported that German hacker group had claimed that they were able to bypass the fingerprint authentication feature that was introduced on the new iPhone 5S. Apple has remained tight lipped about it and there is no news on whether they are working on a fix to resolve a possible issue. The German hacker group had also revealed a video through which they showed how they were able to bypass the biometric authentication feature.

iOS 7 update which was first showcased on the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C phones on Sept 10 was released officially on Sept 18. Apple has dubbed the new iOS 7 as ‘the most significant iOS update since the original iPhone.’ The new update brings entirely new look to the design of the iOS and it also introduces couple of new features. Despite that an issue was found with it, hence the Cupertino company was fast in rolling out a new iOS 7.0.2 update.

The internet radio has been ruled by Pandora since quite some time but the new iTunes Radio seems to be serious threat. So, users who are going to install the iOS7 today will also get iTunes Radio. However, after installing the iTunes Radio, you won’t be much surprised with it.

With iTunes Radio, you will be able to make customized radio streams by selecting your favorite artists. You can also make the app play more songs like the one you are currently playing. However, the music streaming service from Apple does not bring anything new to the users as compared to other popular services like Pandora and Spotify.

The only advantage iTunes Radio has got is that users do not need go to the App Store and search for it and download and install it. The service comes preloaded with the new iOS7. You also do not require creating any account to use it. However, you are required to shell out a small fee of 25USd for an year to use the service. iOS 7 Release Date Nearing for iDevices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch)

September 18, 2013 By Troy Rubenson 1 Comment

When the iOS 7 going to release? We all know it, it is going to release tomorrow for iDevices like iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. You can install the upgrade on your Apple device on the same day when the release is made public. We are going to share with you some tips that will help you in installing the new upgrade without facing any glitches.

Apple officially announced about the iOS 7 upgrade during the WWDC 2013 event that was held earlier. The iOS 7 will bring new features along with a refreshingly new appeal which is quite different from the appeal of all the previous versions of iOS. The much lingering release date of iOS 7 upgrade is finally arriving tomorrow.

ios7iphone

In the previous week, Apple announced some of the new features that would come with iOS7 upgrade. Air Drop, improved Camera app, new Control Center, enhanced Siri, and an amazing new design of the OS are some of the things iDevice users will get very soon.

iOS 7 upgrade will be able for iPhones like iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. For iPads, the iOS7 will be available for iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPad 4. For iPod Touch, the upgrade will only come to the fifth gen product. Users who own any of the above mentioned iDevice can install the iOS7 update as soon as Apple makes it available.

Those who have previously updated their product any iOS update, they would know it pretty well that the update process is not smooth. Server issues and bug issues are something that can disturb your installation process. So, tech experts who are waiting for the arrival of iOS7 upgrade are also waiting to see whether the installation process will be easy or not.

First of all, you need to keep your mind ready that the installation process of the new iOS7 update may not be easy. However, there are few things that you can do to ensure the process is carried out smoothly. To make the process smooth, we advise you to download the latest version of iTunes beforehand. Also, you need to have an Apple ID. You need to perform backup of your data so that you can get it back in case the installation process fails.

Know the iOS 7 Before You go For the Upgrade
You need to be aware of the fact that once you install the iOS7 update on your iDevice, you will not be able to revert back to your older iOS. So, we advise you to first you to go through the release notes and features of iOS7 and only go for the upgrade if you really want it. This does not mean that we are saying that the iOS7 is not worth an install. However, the only thing we are citing here is that you won’t be able to come back to iOS6 after the installation of new iOS.

iOS 7 brings to you new features and new appeal which means after installing the new update, you may get confused once you have downloaded the update. On YouTube, you can already find iOS 7 hands-on videos. You can simply go through some of them and see if the new features really interest you and then only go for the upgrade. Also, you can wait and spend a day or two to read first impressions and then go for the update.

Make time for iOS 7 Update
The iOS7 upgrade will certainly not finish in ten minutes. The entire process can last from 50 to 130 minutes depending on the iDevice product users are using. So, it would be good if you can make a time of about one hour or so to download and carry out the installation. Since a lot of iDevice owners will be going for the upgrade, Apple server’s may work slowly and you may experience slowness during the installation process.

Do not Go for On-The-Go Update
Make sure you perform the iOS7 upgrade where there are less distractions. Hence, we advise you to do iOS7 installation at home as there is a risk of something to go wrong if you perform the update on-the-go. Downloading the update can eat up your data plan or consume a lot of battery if you try to do it on-the-go. Hence, we advise you to do it at home where you can connect through Wi-Fi.

OS X Mavericks Release Date Towards End October by Apple

September 13, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson 1 Comment

The latest version of the OS X from Apple titled Maverick had been announced at the WWDC event held in June. This is an upgrade that Apple users are anxious for though as per the latest inputs on this, they may have to wait a while longer as the software is now in its seventh beta stage and can be expected for release only towards end of October. This information can be taken as the closest to real in the absence of any official announcement, coming as it is from 9to5Mac who in turn are depending on anonymous sources for the same.

Mavericks

Apple’s other important software launch of the year, the iOS 7 will be available from September 18 though the same is already available via the two iPhone devices Apple launched recently. The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are the only devices to run the latest iOS 7 right now though more are going to be added to the list from September 18th. Apple has stated that its iPhone 4 and above and all models starting from the second gen iPad will be compatible with the new iOS 7.

Meanwhile, past trends add more substance to the Maverick release date being slated for end of October. One being that as per past precedence, Apple releases their latest OS X version only after the fourth quarter earnings have been called in. That happens towards the middle of October and if Apple is sticking to that schedule, a release date of the OS X Maverick can well be expected only towards third week of October.

The other new launch from Apple would be their MacBook Pro products. This can also be expected to be launched in end October as Apple would like to launch the latest OS X which would be running on their MacBook to come at the same time. Rumors however are there about Apple not waiting for the OS X to be ready and launching their MacBook Pro units. Users would need to upgrade to the new OS when it is launched later. This possibility cannot be ruled out completely.

What users can expect from the OS X Maverick version are quite a few additional features to make the usage of the device more interesting. The present OS X Mountain Lion lags in the Finder functionality which is quite limited in its scope. The web browser Safari also can be expected to be improved with the Maverick version. The Maps and iBook Apps also would be more interesting in the Maverick version. The beta phase of the OS is working on the multi performance capability that the OS would allow the device it runs on.

iOS 7 Release Date Nearing – Apple, T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T Trains Staff on Apple’s iOS 7

September 9, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

On September 10, the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C will be unveiled at the Apple Inc Headquarters in Cupertino, California and we expect the iOS 7 will be unleashed as well even though Apple has not expressed much on the arrival of iOS 7. Though Apple has not disclosed much about the iOS 7 officially, AT&T is getting ready for the release of iOS 7.

The news is that AT&T is training its employees on iOS 7 on its various features like iTunes Radio and Activation lock. We are not sure whether AT&T is aware of the iOS 7 release date or not but certainly they are training its staff to get acquainted with the new iOS 7 as the new iPhone devices namely the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are going to be made available for the customers in this month.

Few days ago, it was also in the news that Apple is also training its employees on the new iOS 7. In fact, Apple is not going to allow its Apple Care support team members to go on leave so that they can assist the new customers on the features of the iOS 7 that will be made available with the next gen Phone and iPad.

ATT-prepares-for-iOS-7-release

Whenever a new upgrade is done on Android phones, users are shown a getting started wizard that makes the user understand the new features of the update. However, this kind of thing is not available for iOS 7 which highlights all of its new features. However, regular things like creating and sending text messages, making calls, browsing on the internet and other still remains the same.

AT&T has even published some documents that are used internally to educate its employees on the new iOS 7. We have posted a leaked image of the document. Even Verizon and T-Mobile are gearing up for the release of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. Both the leading carriers from US have cancelled the vacations of their employees primarily because the iPhone 5S release date is drawing near.

iOS 7 will come with a refreshingly new interface with revamped icons and will also bring plenty of new features. If users are unable to understand the iOS 7 properly, chances are there that they may not others to purchase the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, next gen iPad and iPad Mini 2.

Carriers have already tested the new iOS 7 during the summer season. The early release for carrier companies was done to let them study the new OS and also to find out problems with it. This also allowed them to prepare for the release of iOS 7 as it is getting released on all the major carriers simultaneously.

iOS 7 release date may not happen on Sept 10. On that day, we will only see the release of iPhone 5S and iPhone SC that are running on iOS 7. The iOS 7 will be unveiled completely on September 16 or 18. As of now, the iOS 7 is in the beta stage now. It is being speculated that after the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are released, Apple will roll out Apple iOS 7 Gold Master which is nothing final build that will be first issued to the developers before it is finally released to public

Apple Sending Out Press Invites For its Sept 10 Event, Expected to Launch iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C

September 3, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

We all know Apple has an event lined up on the 10th of September and if anyone is still having doubts on this, the Cupertino giant has now begun sending out press invites for the same. The company is long rumored to be launching two new iPhone version on the specified date, the flagship iPhone 5S and the budget oriented iPhone 5C. These apart, there is also the all new iOS 7 that too will be hogging the limelight on the big day.

iphone 5

There has been some confusion as to whether it will be an iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 that Apple will be launching this fall. While an iPhone 6 would have been a much better offering, its iPhone 5S that Apple will eventually be launching. What this means is that the upcoming flagship iPhone will be much the same as the current iPhone 5 from a design point of view except for a few minor tweaks. However, an updated internals is almost a certainty, which means a faster processor along with perhaps a higher capacity RAM. An integrated fingerprint sensor could be a surprise package too, one that will add to the security of the smartphone.

In contrast, the iPhone 5C will be Apple’s low cost derivative of the iPhone, one that will be aimed at the emerging markets. With the iPhone 5C, Apple intends to wrest back the initiative it has lost out to other smartphone makers such as Samsung that has a smartphone offering at almost every price range. The iPhone 5C which will feature a plastic body to save costs will no doubt ensure Apple a footprint in the budget smartphone segment. Apple also intends to lure prospective customers with a range of color options for the iPhone 5C. Also, while still on colors, the iPhone 5S too is expected to come in a golden shade though its not know if such a color option will come at a price premium.

iOS 7 Release Date Discused on iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C

August 28, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

According to an email that was sent to the developers through Nuance speech technology in iPad and iPhone apps, the release date for iOS 7 has been scheduled at 10th September. But the most talked about email has been sent by Nuance to the developers. The mail has been shared on the website of Owen Williams. Nuance very well boasts of the software which is to work perfectly within the apps of iOS 7. The date of release of iOS 7 as scheduled on 10th September might also witness the announcement of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C by Apple.

ios7

However there are some things that aren’t right about the date.  Firstly Nuance is not yet aware of the release date of iOS 7 by Apple. Secondly, according to a rumor, the Gold Master (GM) version of iOS 7 is to come about on 10th September. Even as the same leak previously suggested the release date of iOS 7 beta 7 version, the same date (September 10) is also likely to see the launch of iOS 7 Gold Master too. Lastly Nuance on the other hand has removed the email from the server. It is now expected that the releasing date of iOS 7 will be coming after a week off the iOS 7 GM. It is also expected that in this version of iOS 7 GM there won’t be issues which needs to be solved by developers.

iOS 7 happens to be the first major overhaul of the operating system ever since it came into being. Apple surely is banking on the latest iOS build to take forward its hardware aspirations as well as ward off the stiff challenge posed by Android. The Google operating system has been on an upswing off late, more so after the Jelly Bean build was released. Under the circumstances, Apple needed a zing to ensure its idevices continued to enjoy consumer preference. The latest iOS 7 could well be it and consumers are eager to see the OS in action, preferably in the new devices Apple has lined up for a release this fall. This includes the iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 as well as the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C.

Meanwhile, in the present situation the iOS 7 is likely to come on 18th September, only a few days before the arrival of Apple iPhone 5S. As 9to5Mac states there can be some delay in releasing an update of iOS 7 for iPad. This version of the update is likely to come with a host of features like Control Center, animations, revised Notification Center and many others.
