From the variety of tablets that people would be able to pick up come “Black Friday” the choice between iPad Mini that would be available, or the Microsoft Surface would be interesting to find out. Walmart and Target have announced gift coupons to go with the purchase of the iPad mini from their stores. People however would be looking for discounted price of the device rather than such gift vouchers. The first generation iPad mini with 16 GB storage is available at $239 from eBay.

Rakuten is offering the iPad Mini for $249.99 on Black Friday, and that indeed is a big discount from the going price of the device.

These as of now are the stores that are offering the iPad Mini at their lowest best. Things may however change with the actual day arriving closer when new retailers would surely jump in and announce their bargain price list.

Apple themselves can be expected to announce some 10 percent discount on their older iPad Mini models, but there would be none such discount on their recently launched iPad Air.

Microsoft has also announced a price of $199 for their 32 GB Surface tablet which matches the price quoted by BestBuy. They have also mentioned the 32 GB variant to be available at a discount of $20. That means buyers can pick up the device for $379.

There is sure going to be more announcements and attractive ones at that to mark “Black Friday”.

Apple iPad Mini, Don’t buy it as New iPad Mini 2 Release Date Near

September 30, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

Apple iPad Mini has been one of the best selling devices from the Apple camp ever since it was launched in October last year. Its compact dimensions coupled to its thin and light attributes ensured it quickly rose to the top of the consumer tablet preference and continues to remain there even after almost a year of being in service.

During the time, it had to wade off competition from the likes of devices such as the Nexus 7 or the Kindle Fire HD, all quite capable devices in their own right. No wonder the Apple table continues to be in demand even now, almost a year after it was first launched. However, it might still not be the best time to pick up on the iPad Mini.

Here is why.

iPad Mini

The biggest reason here is that a new version of the iPad Mini, the new iPad Mini 2 release date should be just weeks away from a formal launch.

Of course Apple is yet to confirm the above though rumors have been busy predicting an October release for the new iPad Mini. That is not without reason though, as the current version is quickly approaching its first anniversary, which makes it ready for a replacement. That it would feature quite a few advancements over the current version is all too obvious. What makes us crave for the new iPad series even more is the latest iPhone versions which come packed by a 64 bit A7 chips.

Also, the current iPad Mini does not have a Retina Display, something that can be considered its greatest drawback. With Google already improving on this with the new Nexus 7 that comes with a pixel rich display, the onus is now on Apple is match the same with a retina display for the next iPad Mini version. However, just in case the iPad Mini 2 does not come with the display that is being hoped for, the iPad Mini would have slashed price by then. So buyer would get a cheaper iPad Mini at that time.

The iPad Mini 2 has some other aspects for which it would be wiser to wait for and check out prior deciding on the iPad Mini right away. With Apple launching the iOS 7 also which would have support for the finger print scanning and security feature in it, the iPad Mini 2 is all probability would have that feature on it also. iPad Mini 2 should also have a better camera given the fact that Apple every year comes up with a better camera on its devices.

iPad 5 Release Date, Display In Production; Rumored Thinner, Lighter

September 11, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

The display of Apple’s iPad 5 is reported to be in production and it is learned the suppliers are working on a thinner touch screen to make the device lighter and thinner, equipped with design of iPad Mini to some extent.

Earlier leaks about the so-called iPad 5 reveals the tablet to have a new look, inspired by the design of iPad Mini and possibly with a new screen technology on it’s release date.

Apple's iPad 5 Display In Production; Rumored Thinner, Lighter

The Wall Street Journal writes, “The same touch-panel technology that made the iPad mini thin and light will likely feature in the next iPad, which is currently being produced by Apple Inc.’s Asian suppliers.”

WSJ also claims Apple may be releasing the iPad 5 this fall. GottaBeMobile.com writes the new Apple products to be launching in coming months are iPhone 5S, iPad 5, iPad Mini 2, iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks. Now, if it is believed the display of the new tablet is in production, then could it arrive sooner and not later. It also points for a separate launching event for the iPad 5 and not clubbed with the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

Now that iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C has been announced and it is expected to be released by 18th September. If this is so, the iOS 7 may be released within a week or so after the event. This will open the doors for the iPad 5 and also for the upcoming iPad Mini 2.

Both the devices are expected to be run by the latest operating system. The last iPad was launched in October 2012, just ahead of the busy holiday season and Apple was able to sell large number of the tablets. This time too the same is expected from the iDevice giant. So watch out for a possible next month iPad 5 release date.

New iPad Mini Without Retina Display and Second Gen Google Nexus 7 in UK Markets

September 7, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

According to the Wall Street Journal’s latest update on Apple new iPad Mini 2, the Cupertino will be releasing the second gen iPad Mini 2 with Retina display later this year. However, new rumors are pointing towards the fact that Apple will be releasing the next iPad Mini without Retina display.

Not only our website but also various other sites are reporting that the new iPad Mini will not sport Retina display. The report is based on the logs of beta version of iOS 7. When the Wall Street Journal had reported the news, they did not confirm on the source from where they had got the information. They had only mentioned the news had come from a secret source that is familiar with the news.

According to the logs from the beta version of iOS 7, the iPad Mini 2 will come out with the same display that is present on the existing iPad Mini. The major difference between the two devices will be that the newer model will sport a powerful CPU and 8MP camera lens. This shows that the new iPad Mini will not be a major upgrade from the existing mini version of iPad.

iPad Mini 2

As of now, we are not sure what can we call the next version of iPad Mini because it will only come out with upgraded internal specifications as compared to its predecessor model. It will be sort of an ‘S’ update like an update from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S. The new iPad Mini will be unveiled with the new iPhone and iPad in the next month.

New Google Nexus 7 2013 is undoubtedly the best tablet in the 7 inch category and soon it is going to be available for fans in UK. Very soon the second gen Nexus 7 is going to be made available through Google Play Store. However, many popular retailers are already attempting to get the Nexus 7 tablets before it is made available on the Google Play Store.

According to famous tech websites from UK, retail outlets have already started receiving pre-orders. However, these retail outlets are selling the Nexus 7 at a higher price compared to the price in US. The 32GB variant of Google Nexus 7 is priced at 450USD and the 16GB variant is priced at 350USD. On the other hand, the Google Play Store in US is selling the 32GB variant for 269USD and the 16GB variant is being sold for 229USD.

iPad Mini 2 Release Date Delayed, Cheaper Mini to be Launched First by Apple

June 2, 2013 By Georgia Dawson Leave a Comment

The iPad Mini was made available for purchase last year and it is time when Apple should be releasing some information on the iPad Mini 2. There are rumors that Apple is working on a new iPad Mini but what’s surprising is that the new iPad Mini is not iPad Mini 2 but a cheaper version of the iPad Mini.

ipad mini

The budget friendly iPad Mini is going to sport less features but will be quite similar to the original iPad Mini. It is also going to feature the good old Retina Display from Apple.

Apple could have gone the normal way of releasing the iPad Mini 2 later this year and they could have lowered the price of the original iPad Mini. However, Apple has decided to bring out a stripped edition of iPad Mini at a reduced price to compete with other devices in the same range.

In the recent past, many tech analysts have been talking about the cheaper edition of iPad Mini. Some are of the view that the device will be priced less than $250. There are couple of products that are already available in this price range such as the Nexus 7 and the soon to be unveiled the Nexus 7 2 and the Apple’s rumored cheaper iPad Mini will be able to compete with these products.

Tech analysts feel that in the month of September, Apple is going to launch low-end iPhone. After this release, Apple may roll out the budget friendly version of iPad Mini. While some analysts feel that Apple wants to cut cost and to do this they will produce a device that will come out with less features, use a A5 CPU, streamline its metal casing, do away with rear camera and reduce the storage capacity to 8GB. The suitable price for such a device would fall in the range of $200 to $250.

Apple already has low storage capacity and no camera device in the market; it is the new iPod touch. Apple has released a larger capacity device which is $70 costlier than the low storage capacity iPod touch.

What about iPad Mini 2? If Apple is really going to release a lowly priced iPad Mini, it would definitely mean that the iPad Mini 2 would be launched with new features and they may reduce the price of the older iPad Min.

Apple’s new iPod touch is cheap and has got fewer features. So, we are not sure whether Apple really requires launching a cheaper iPad Mini to take on the likes on Nexus 7 and other tablets. If you are really interested in buying an iPad Mini, you can get a refurbished edition for $280 from Apple. Even though the iPad Mini’s price is higher than other tablets, experts feel it is much better than other Nexus 7 and other tablets of the same genre.
