What We Know about Apple’s iWatch So Far

August 29, 2014 By Janet Vasquez Leave a Comment

There are a lot of rumors concerning the new iPhone 6 and upcoming Apple iWatch. We’ve already reported that the iPhone 6 will have a larger screen in April and now we’re focusing our attention on the new iWatch that is thought to be presented by Apple at the event that is believed to take place on September 9, 2014.

Notice how we’re using thought and believed because nothing has yet been confirmed by Apple and until that happens, what we’re doing is purely speculation. But speculation about Apple devices is getting more and more accurate of late; last year we knew for certain that there would be two iPhones launched and now we know for sure that at least one of the two iPhones coming this September is going to have a larger screen.

But when it comes to Apple’s iWatch, the gossip isn’t as generous as it is with the iPhone. We don’t even know for sure that it is going to be launched at the even when Apple releases the iPhone 6. If it does come at the same time as the new Apple smartphone, then the event is going to be quite novelty-loaded and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if Apple chose to dedicate an event for the iWatch alone.

Apple is so late at the smartwatch table because, in Apple fashion, it wants to get it right the first time. Apple cannot afford to put out a device that is not successful, because it only puts out a handful of devices each year, as opposed to Samsung and other tech giants.

One rumor concerning the shape of Apple’s iWatch says that it is going to come in multiple screen sizes and will feature more than 10 sensors. Most likely, we believe, that Apple’s iWatch is going to have a curved glass display and will fit round the wrist. Then again, it would not surprise anyone if Apple went for the classic look of an analog watch.

Another thing we know for sure that Apple’s iWatch is going to focus strongly on is health. It’s going to be, among many things, a fitness wearable device, as the company has already announced HealthKit, a platform and app for iOS that gathers all types of biometric data. The iWatch is going to count steps, monitor your sleep, measure your heart rate and even measure your oxygen saturation.

HomeKit is another app/platform that is going to come alongside iOS 8 that is dedicated to controlling things around the house, such as light bulbs, thermostats and even fridges.

What do you think Apple’s iWatch is going to bring new to the smartwatch table? Drop us a line in the comment section below.

iPhone 6, iWatch and iPad – The Latest Apple Rumors

March 27, 2014 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

Latest Apple RumorsAfter Google announced Android Wear, the latest operating system from Android designed for smartwatches, we are pretty certain that Apple is preparing something big in the field of smartwatches. Today we are going to take a look at the latest Apple rumors and see what we know, up until now, about iPhone 6, iWatch, iPads, Macbooks and iTunes.

The Latest Apple Rumors

iPhone

One of the first rumors concerning the new iPhone 6 is the fact that Apple has bought three-years’ supply of sapphire glass displays. That we know for sure and we can only speculate that they’re going to use it for their iPhone screens. Right now they have the sapphire glass only on the iPhone 5s home button. Imagine how amazing the new iPhone 6 is going to look covered in sapphire glass.

Latest Apple rumors hint at the fact that we’re going to get two new iPhones and not just one. Apparently, there will be a 4.5 inch model and a larger that 5 inches one. Apple may feel threatened by Samsung and other Android smartphone companies who have been upping their screen size.

Another quite interesting rumor about the new iPhone 6 is that the device will have some sort of solar-powered charging ability, which is really pushing the right buttons for us, here at StatesChronicle.

iWatch

It’s Apple’s turn to make smartwatches and judging from the latest Apple rumors, they’ll hop on the smartwatch bandwagon this year. Could the sapphire glass be intended for Apple’s iWatches? Some believe it might. According to some, the iWatch will have a better implementation of Siri, Apple’s voice assistant and a great health monitoring ability.

We’re a bit reserved when it comes to the iWatch, because Apple hasn’t even confirmed its existence, so there’s not much to go on.

iPad

The latest Apple rumors concerning iPads have to do with the size of the devices. Past reports have told us that Apple is testing a 13-inch iPad, but now apparently the project is put on hold. The iPad Pro, as it would have been called, could see the light of day, we’ll just have to wait and see.

We’d like to remind you that these are just rumors that have not been confirmed and judging by how Apple does business, they’ll never get confirmed or infirmed. We’ve learned from past experiences that most of the iPhone rumors have turned out to be true, so you can choose to believe that our latest Apple rumors are the real thing.

Apple iWatch – Will it Release This Year Before Samsung Galaxy Gear?

September 3, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

The tech world is saying that the world of smartphone is getting saturated. Hence, major brands are showing great interest in manufacturing wearable gadgets like smartwatches. Though Samsung and Apple were the two brands that were in the news that were said to be working on their version of smartwatches, Sony has already gone ahead and announced their wearable smartwatch called the SmartWatch2 earlier this year.

Some time ago, Apple had patented the iWatch brand name. This was time Apple fans came to know that Apple is planning to release a wearable smartwatch very soon. This also sparked rumors on the possible concepts for iWatch. But still there are major speculations that the iWatch will not arrive in this year. However, there are other tech experts who feel that device is sure to arrive within this year.

rumored iwatch design

In the recent past, it was in the news that Apple has hired sizeable numbers of engineers for designing the iWatch. It seems that Apple is currently developing prototypes of iWatch. That is the reason why the company is hiring new candidates to build the new wearable gadget. As of now, it is only Citi that claims the device will arrive in this year.

Samsung is also on the verge of revealing its Samsung Galaxy Gear smartworth on Sept 4 at Berlin’s IFA 2013 tradeshow event tomorrow. However, before Samsung, Apple and Sony talked about their smartwatches, Motorola had released MOTOACTV smartwatch but it did not attract much popularity. However, even there are speculations that Motorola is working on a successor model possibly the MOTOACTV 2.

Recently, it has been known that Apple has signed up two Taiwanese suppliers to build the iWatch. The news was revealed by a tech expert from Taiwan who also predicts that the device will arrive in 2014. The names of the two companies are Quanta and Inventec which will split the order of building the iWatch in a 60:40 ratio. The aim is to build 38m devices in the coming year. Another rumor reveals that both the companies will produce more than 63m devices.

Still, no other details apart from the name of the device have been officially announced by Apple. However, Apple’s growing interest in wearable computing is what made the iWatch one of the much awaited tech gadgets of the recent times.

A smartwatch is wearable wristwatch like gadget that could be connected to user’s smartphone through Bluetooth and then users will be able to see all the recent notifications like new messages and call alerts on the screen of the smartwatch without the need of checking the same on the phone. At the beginning of this year, Pebble Technology from US already launched and sold 85000 Pebble smartwatches priced at $150.

Apple on the Verge of Making Next Tech Revolution with Apple TV, iWatch

June 1, 2013 By Georgia Dawson Leave a Comment

At the D11 event held at Ranchos Ralos Verdes in California, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook hinted about what Apple has in store for the world. He announced that in the near future the company will be releasing the new version of iOS and OSX and Cook appeared to be quite animated about it.  According to Tim Cook, Apple has managed to achieve such a huge success only because they have dedicated themselves to develop the best hardware, software and service infrastructure.

apple

Tim Cook also mentioned that he is not about competition from Samsung by claiming that Apple only aims at enriching the lives of the people and does not aim at selling most number of products but targets at selling the best products. At the event, Cook announced that in the future, we could see some exciting tech products from Apple. Some of which include:

Apple TV

:- In 2012, Apple had sold 13 million Apple TVs and that has made think of new possibilities that they can introduce in the forthcoming edition of Apple TV. Apple has now come to understand what people want when it comes to watching TV programs and movies. Apple has teamed up with Hulu and Netflix and we feel the new Apple TV is going to be much better than its predecessor.

Wearable PCs

: – Thanks to Tim Cook, it is now confirmed that Apple will produce smart watches in the future. He thinks that smart wristwatch is a great concept and is something that will be used by many. Until now, there was no official confirmation on whether Apple will be manufacturing wearables but now it’s pretty clear that Apple is going to release the product in the future as numerous engineers are currently working on the device. However, a recent rumor from a reliable source had claimed that wearables may be only available in the last quarter of 2014.

Tim Cook is quite doubtful about the products like smart glasses and smart cars. Even the concept is quite innovative; the product may not be actually that useful for the market. Apple has always been known for brining innovative ideas to the people but when it comes to glasses, Apple does not seem to be interested to compete with Google.

Apple has filed patents for iPhone for two features that can be used to control a car. The first feature will let you unlock the doors of your car when you are some distance away from your car. The second feature will let you find a large parking zone.

At the event, Apple continued to maintain that the next technology revolution is around the corner. In order to find success, Apple has to do a lot of ground research and investigation so that they can know what people actually require and make it available to the world.

Months back, a disclosed document describing Xbox’s future exposed that Microsoft has plotted out a wearable digital device alike Google Glass. Several technical analysts have predicted wearable computing device to be the next big element in the field of technology. According to reports, Samsung is all set to launch a smartwatch. Rumors also point out to the fact that Apple is set to release an iWatch later this year.

The most notable tech-giants of the 21st century are lining up surrounding a similar theme. Analysts predict that Apple is going to deliver its long-talked-about HDTV later this year along with 9.7 inches mini iTV. Microsoft also is planning to launch a solid wearable computing device this year. If it gets late then the situation will turn up to be somewhat like Windows Phone, which now lags behind all other smartphones. Samsung provides Google with Google class components so it will not be surprising if Samsung comes up with one of its own.

Reports reveal that Microsoft and Samsung will release their own wearable computing devices within the next six months. The prices are estimated to be around $200-$500. Google Glass has not gone on sales publicly. The device’s appearance makes it suitable for geeks only. Apple iWatch vs Google Glass – Lets have a Look at Most Anticipated Gadgets

May 24, 2013 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

Today, mobile devices are smartphones or tablets that we carry along, i.e. hand-held objects placed in our pockets or bags. These hand-held objects have definitely unleashed a world of convenience, but technology is taking us farther ahead with wearable mobile devices. That’s clear from the latest hype about Google’s Project Glass and Apple’s rumored iWatch. How do the two devices compare with each other?

apple-iwatch-google-glass

Google Glass, expected to be released later this year, is described as an “Augmented Reality” wearable device. Augmented Reality refers to the mode of viewing the physical environment with graphics, text, sound, GPS details and video. The Glass features a head-mounted display, with a smartphone-like layer on the inner side of your glasses. The technology runs on Android OS with voice commands, so it can be operated anywhere without using your hands. A rocker button placed on the right frame can also be used to control. In other words, the Glass comprises a voice-activated display built into eyeglasses. Google is trying to collaborate with companies like Rayban to widen the reach of its Glass. When it comes to safety, Google could incorporate a feature to auto-upload thefts and similar occurrences to YouTube.

Apple’s iWatch, rumored to be a hot tech piece of 2013, is basically a smartwatch with a flexible structure that can be shaped to be worn around the wrist. It can connect to the wearer’s iPhone via Bluetooth and facilitate control functions, such as Siri for voice automated commands. Second-screen functionalities, such as controlling music and finding directions are also expected. The iWatch will run on iOS. What about safety features? Perhaps, iWatch can sense the owner’s wrist and cease to work when someone else wears it.

google-glass-vs-apple-iwatch

Apple seems to have the edge when it comes to aesthetics, while Google is consistently ahead in terms of technology and innovation.  When it comes to utility, the iWatch may not be as practical as Google Glass to follow GPS while driving. At the same time, wearing the iWatch fill fit better into your routine as watches are more commonly used accessories compared to glasses. Google Glass is likely to have a $1500 price tag, while there are no clues of pricing details for the iWatch.

As wearable devices reach mainstream, developers will start releasing apps that will make user-experience more immersive. Sophisticated gadgets like the Google Glass and iWatch are having an expensive role in the digital realm, but will allow access to the Internet and computer anywhere and anytime, that too with hands-free operation.
