The New Yoga Tablet 2 Pro and the Yoga 3 Pro are Here

October 10, 2014 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

This time last year, Lenovo launched two Yoga Tablets that caught our attention. Lenovo went wild yesterday when it unveiled a number of Yoga laptops and tablets, but only two have caught our attention: the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro and the Yoga 3 Pro. In today’s article we’re going to take a quick look at them and see what the fuss is all about.

The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro and the Yoga 3 Pro

To begin with, we must say that Lenovo loves its Yoga line. It seems as if it is trying to concentrate all of its energy into updating and innovating the line and we think it’s doing a great job!

Yoga Tablet 2 Pro and the Yoga 3 Pro

The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is a nice Android (4.4) tablet. It’s got a 13.3-inch display with an impressive resolution of 2560×1440. The screen of the size isn’t too movie-friendly, but I guess it could work for some people. It has a 4-core Intel Atom processor (1.86GHz), 2GB of RAM and up to 32 GB of internal storage. The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro costs $499 and will it will be available starting with the end of the month. The most impressive feature of the 2 Pro is the tiny projector that will cast a 50-inch picture on any flat surface.

The Yoga 3 Pro is a Windows tablet/laptop with a 360 degree hinge. It’s a smart and sleek laptop: it boasts one of Intel’s new Broadwell chips, it has a 13.3-inch screen with a 3200×1800 resolution coated with Gorilla Glass. The processor will run at up to 2.6GHZ and with the 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of SSD, you’re getting quite a jewel. You can grab the Yoga 3 Pro at the end of the month if you’re willing to pay at least $1,349 for it.

Toshiba New Coming Satellite P55T Laptop With 4K Display is Here

April 23, 2014 By Janet Vasquez Leave a Comment

toshiba satellite p55t If you keep yourself updated to the news in the tech industry and you are a tech passionate yourself, surely you were clapping at some point last week when you first heard that the world will have a Toshiba new coming Satellite P55T Laptop with 4K display and some other goodies in the same package. The good news is that the freshest challenger in the laptop market was announced to become available on April 22, so all you video fans out there, all you photographers and multi – media editors, open up your pockets, as the Satellite P55t does not only cost $1,500 (with about $500 cheaper than the MacBook Pro), but it will hook you for good with its impressive features.

Before you jump to buying it, let us make a short review of the facts: 4K displays are not the newest upgrade, so to speak, that laptop manufacturers boasted with recently. More than that, since CES 2014, the world expected Lenovo to come up with a crystal clear 4K display laptop, but Toshiba sped ahead and let the world know it will debut the Satellite P55t, a device said to have the means and the opportunity to strongly challenge the MacBook Air. As a reminder, besides the amazing display we will talk about immediately, the Toshiba new coming Satellite P55t laptop also boasts with its Intel Core i7 CPU and discrete Nvidia graphics, 1TB hard drive (although nobody said anything about a potential SSD option upgrade), up to 16GB RAM and a lot of other specs that trump a lot of existing laptops.

But of course, the main feature and the main pride of this new laptop is the display: a 15.6-inch clamshell which features a 3,840×2,160 native resolution, making this machine one interesting choice for those who just need a 4k resolution display, certified by non other than Technicolor.

But do you indeed need a 4 k resolution for a 15.6-inch screen? Last week, Ian Paul from PC World was asking himself the same question:

4K may be a great idea for cinematic screens at the movie theater, and I can even get behind 4K on some of the larger televisions. But shoving more pixels into a small display that is already densely packed at 1080p? Color me skeptical.

People may be skeptical about this, but, just as other reviewers and experts mentioned,

This premium Satellite is designed for photographers and video editors looking for a mobile platform with a crystal-clear screen. The display uses IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technology, which allows for clearer and brighter images.

In other words, depending on what your personal line of business is, the Toshiba new coming Satellite P55t laptop may be the best thing you ever put your hands on, or just another crystal clear laptop on the market. But let’s pay attention to the future news and see how the new Satellite is going to impact the public.

HP Pavilion x360 revealed at the MWC 2014

February 27, 2014 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

HP PAVILION X360There weren’t many laptop related devices at this year’s Mobile World Congress. Could it be that laptops are on the list of soon to be extinct species? We surely hope not. It seems that HP Pavilion x360 doesn’t want that either. The new 11.6 inch laptop presented is actually a hybrid between a clamshell laptop and a tablet that can switch modes with the 360 degree hinge. You might know this hinge mechanism from the popular Lenovo Yoga line of laptops or Dell Yoga laptops. Basically this 360 degree hinge lets you use the device as a normal laptop and also as a tablet, by bending the lit backward.

Unlike the Yoga’s premium price (starting at around 1000$), HP Pavilion x360 has a more affordable price (399$). The HP runs on Intel Celeron instead of the Core I series CPUs.

HP said that the new laptop is looking to be an accessible, affordable device for those who want to both work and play, making it easier for them with the switchable mode.

HP PAVILION X360 – A MORE AFFORDABLE YOGA STYLE LAPTOP

The new laptop weighs approximately 3 pounds with a 21.9 mm thickness. It comes with the same HP Beats Audio system, a 500GB hybrid hard and 8GB of RAM. It also features an 802.11n Wi-Fi, 3 USB ports and Bluetooth.

At the same conference HP also made public that a second model of Pavilion x360 is in the making, but this one will have a less powerful Intel Celeron processor and apparently it will cost less. The bad news is that HP said they don’t think the new model will be released in the U.S. We really hope they’re just saying that as a marketing strategy because we like this little laptop.

The HP Pavilion x360 is available in red and silver and it’s due to be out this February.
