LG G2 Release Date – Verizon Launches Sign Up Page after HTC One and Moto X

August 18, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson 1 Comment

It seems Verizon is on a signing up spree. For no sooner had it launched a sign up page dedicated to the HTC One and the Moto X, here comes another one for the recently launched LG G2 device. This should come as a welcome piece of news for Verizon subscribers who are looking forward to the LG G2 release date as they now have a place to register their email id to be informed of the latest development concerning the device.

However, as it has been with the HTC One page, no exact date has been mentioned as to when it shall be available at Verizon. Its subscribers though should be relieved the carrier has started off early with the LG G2 which is unlike how it treated the HTC One. Verizon seems to have woken up to the HTC flagship device only now, months after the same has reached the US via other carriers.

The LG G2 clearly is the hottest smartphone device right now. However, the Verizon version of the G2 seems a bit different from the standard model LG launched earlier this month. The changes though seems limited to the exterior of the device which includes a more prominent camera surround as well as the rear mounted buttons. As for the carrier’s logo, there is one placed at the rear in the middle while another has been placed on the front, along the top right edge. One of the most prominent design features of the LG G2 is the incorporation of buttons at the rear to allow for ease of access.

LG G2

The flagship device from LG comes with a 13 MP camera with image optimization and is powered by a Snapdragon 800 quad core processor. The chip together with a 2 GB RAM makes for a powerful combination which should be enough to allow the device to run more than one application easily and with the least hiccup. LG is also emphasizing on the smartphone’s UI as a major selling factor of the device. The device also features a 5.2 inch full HD display which LG is claiming to be the thinnest in the world.

Meanwhile, LG has confirmed the flagship device on it’s release date will be available via all leading carriers in the US. The device will be up against the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC One as well as the upcoming iPhone variant. Also, Verizon has taken up the LG G2 at a time when Verizon is busy with the upcoming Motorola series of devices, like Droid Maxx, Droid Mini, and Droid X. Apple on the other hand is also planning of launching iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C and Samsung too is bringing forth its latest produce Galaxy Note 3 which will be competing with the large display screen of LG G2.

iPhone 5C Release Date, Specifications, Features Carriers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile)

August 18, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

Samsung has got low budget device the Galaxy S4 Mini. HTC is going to bring the HTC One Mini and now Apple is working on launching a low budget iPhone 5. The device is called iPhone 5C. Analysts feel that the device will cost anywhere between 300USD to 400USD. The iPhone 5C will be priced quite less compared to the price of the flagship device.

Rumors about Apple to manufacture low budget version has been doing round for years but it is only now that the rumor is really going to come true. Apple is also slated to release an upgraded version of iPhone 5 called the iPhone 5S in the next month and it may be also the time when the budget friendly iPhone 5C will also enter the market.

iPhone 5C Design

iPhones are priced high mainly because it is made from high-end components. The aluminum body of the iPhone 5 is simply very irresistible. So, we can guess that the iPhone 5C which is going to slot as a cheaper device will be covered with low-cost plastic case.

Many new smartphones are being rolled out in different colors [courtesy Nokia Lumia devices] like Samsung Galaxy S4 and Moto X. We feel that the cheaper iPhone will also be made available in different colors. The tech world is considering the ‘C’ in iPhone 5C stands for color or cheap. Colorful iPhones will sure look amazing.

iphone 5Cplastic

Specifications
The iPhone 5 is getting upgraded to the iPhone 5S. The iPhone 4S is still available on sale and is also doing well. Experts are of the view that the iPhone 5C will come with more or less the same hardware specs that is present on the iPhone 4S. Going by this, the iPhone 5C will sport an 8MP camera and A5 chips manufactured by Samsung.

There are other rumors as well that say that the Apple iPhone 5C will come with 5MP camera. However, with an 8MP camera, the device will remain competitive to compete with the likes of Moto X which will come with 10MP camera.

This reminds us of the iPad Mini which has got the specs of iPad 2.  Leaked information about the iPhone 5C indicates that it will come out with a 4inch Retina display. This would be put the device on par with the forthcoming iPhone 5S and the existing iPhone 5 which also same sized display.

The iPhone 5C is rumored to come out in different storage variants like 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. It will be equipped with 1GB RAM. The iPhone 5C will also have a 1.9MP front facing camera.

iOS 7 Operating System

When there is a new version of iOS in the making, Apple likes to launch it with the new edition of iPhone. The iOS 7 is going to arrive soon so it would not be surprising to see the cheaper iPhone 5C to sport the shiny new operating system.

Even if the iOS 7 will be made available on the iPhone 5C, it may not have high-end features like the AirDrop or in-camera filters. Also, it is quite evident that iPhone 5C will not have the iPhone 5S.

Siri, the intuitive voice-assistant which released on the iPhone 4S and then it came on iPhone and iPad is one of the best features of the iOS. However, the cheaper iPhone 5C may not be blessed with Siri. The iPhone 5C will be powered with a low-end CPU. Siri requires Apple A5 CPU to function and this may be the reason why the iPhone 5C may not get Siri.

iPhone 5C different colors

iPhone 5C Carriers
Till now, there is no news as to which carriers are going to support the new iPhone 5C. Like most of the predecessor models of iPhone, we can expect the iPhone 5C to be supported by different carriers. So, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular are the mobile networks which will support the iPhone 5C.

iPhone 5C Price

Most analysts are of the view that the iPhone 5C would be available for 300USD on contract. Some also feel that the pricing of the iPhone 5C will be around the pricing of Google LG Nexus 4.

The Google Nexus 4 has achieved such a success because it was available for sale at a very low price. Apple has never offered its product at ‘dirt cheap’ price. However, many Android phones are available at low prices. So, Apple iPhone 5C has to come out at a competitive price so that it can attract Android users.

iPhone 5C Release Date

When is the cheaper edition of iPhone 5 going to arrive? The big Apple event is slated to go live on September 10. The event is being held to reveal the new flagship device. Even if the iPhone 5C is announced on September 10, patrons will have to wait little more. It has been seen that Apple usually waits for the following Friday after the unveiling to take pre-orders. So, it may be available for sale from September 20.

The display screen of the Galaxy S5 will offer a resolution of 1080 x 1280 pixels or higher. Like any other smartphone, the Galaxy S5 will come with features like accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass and gyroscope.

Talking about the camera of the Galaxy S5, the rear will sport a 16MP camera and at the front there is a 5MP. Even though the Nokia Lumia 1020 is equipped with 41MP camera, the next best camera lens after is the 16MP camera of Galaxy S4.

The external storage capacity will be upgraded to 128GB. Other general features like GPS, NFC, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity will be available on the new Galaxy S5. BlackBerry Q10 Available for Pre-Orders in US at Verizon for $199

June 1, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

At the CES 2013, BlackBerry had talked about the two smartphones that they are going to release with the new BlackBerry 10 OS this year. The BlackBerry Z10 has been already released in US and is doing pretty well but it is no competition to the major brands like HTC One and Galaxy S4. Now, it’s time for the BlackBerry Q10 to release in US. What’s cool about the BlackBerry Q10 is that it is a QWERTY phone.

blackberry-q10-540x334

BlackBerry has always been known for QWERTY based phones. However, the sales of BlackBerry was doing down considerably until this year. There were several reasons behind the poor sales of BlackBerry such as boring products, less apps available, and unexciting operating system. Still, BlackBerry managed to survive and this year Z10 along with the new BlackBerry 10 OS has helped in achieving good sales in UK and US.

The BlackBerry Q10 which is soon going to be released in US has been already released in UK. Recent reports of BlackBerry 10’s sales in UK shows it’s sales are higher than that of iPhone 5 and Galaxy S4 in France. It is performing very well in the European markets. It has also beaten the BlackBerry Z10. Even in Canada, the sales of BlackBerry Q10 have been very impressive.

BlackBerry feels that the Q10 will also perform quite well in US. The BlackBerry Q10 will be first available on Verizon which offers the best 4G LTE connectivity in US. The new QWERTY can be pre-ordered now from Verizon.

Users can visit Verizon’s website to place the pre-order for the BlackBerry Q10. It is available for $199. Verizon is offering both white and black colored version of the phone. After Verizon, the Q10 will be available with the other three major cellular service providers in US. However, the white colored Q10 will be only available with Verizon. T-Mobile has stated that they will be selling the BlackBerry Q10 from 5th June. The other two carriers like AT&T and Sprint have not expressed anything about selling the Q10.

On Verizon’s website, the shipped date of the device is mentioned as June 6th and currently device is available for purchase only through online. There is no confirmation yet on when the device will be available at Verizon’s retail shops. Customers can avail the BlackBerry Q10 for $199 provided that they agree to the two-year contract. The BlackBerry Q10 is also available without contract with Verizon for $599.

The BlackBerry Q10 is a very cool QWERTY phone which comes 3.1inch Super AMOLED touchscreen. It is powered with 1.5GHz CPU and 2GB RAM. The Q10 comes with an internal storage capacity of 16GB. The external memory comes with a capacity of 64GB. It is packed with a 8MP camera at the back which supports 1080p full HD video recording. At the front there is 2MP camera. The device runs on the newest BlackBerry 10 OS. Other features include HDMI port, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE connectivity and 2100mAh battery.

Verizon BlackBerry Q10 Release Date June 6th, AT&T, T-Mobile to Follow

May 29, 2013 By Troy Rubenson 4 Comments

BlackBerry has completely revamped itself by churning out the new BlackBerry 10 OS as well as unleashing flagship devices like BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10. When BlackBerry launched the full touch Z10 phone, BlackBerry fans were slightly worried whether the company would stop manufacturing QWERTY kind of phones. Well, the new BlackBerry Q10 is a QWERTY handset.

blackberry-q10

Though many people are not talking about the BlackBerry Q10, the company has claimed that sales report of Q10 is quite impressive. The market is being ruled by large-sized smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One and others which are all full touch phones. Since full touch phones are totally in demand, a QWERTY smartphone may not be able to make a difference in the market.

A recent report from Canada and UK where the BlackBerry Q10 is already available in the market has shown that the device has been a very successful venture for BlackBerry. Phones like Galaxy S4 and HTC One are ruling the market here also but still the Q10 is not lacking behind. Some tech enthusiasts will be surprised to know that in Canada, some stores have reported that Q10 has been sold out whereas others stores have only limited stock.

The BlackBerry Q10 is rumored to be available in US on 6th June through Verizon Wireless. The news surfaced after the device was found listed in Verizon’s inventory which usually appears two weeks before the product is brought to the store. The Q10 is available in two colors, white and black. Verizon has already started taking pre-orders for the phone. Other carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile are soon going to start receiving pre-orders. Verizon and AT&T have mentioned the price of Q10 but T-Mobile has mentioned that Q10 can be yours for $99.99 down followed by monthly installments of $20.

The BlackBerry Q10 is a very promising phone. It comes with touchscreen display that measures 3.1inches and supports 720 x 720 pixels resolution with 330ppi. The device is powered with 1.5GHz dual-core CPU and 2GB RAM. It has got 8MP camera which supports 1080p video recording. At the front, there is 2MP camera. The internal memory of the phone is 16GB and the device supports 4G LTE connectivity. Lastly, the device is runs on the latest BB10 OS.

The BlackBerry Q10 US release date is drawing near. Tech analysts are skeptical about the device’s performance in US which is completely taken over full-touch feature-rich phones. How is it going to fare in US markets? We will have to wait for at least a month or two after the release to check out its sales performance after June 6th release.

Verizon HTC One Release Date, Expected to Make its Debut Before July

May 29, 2013 By Deborah Cobing Leave a Comment

HTC had to face a few problems with the One smartphone model early on during its life cycle. All of it led to the device not making it to the correct spot in consumer acceptance or popularity when compared to other gadgets of the same genre. The device has a very interesting specification and is extremely well put together. It sure was one of the best smartphones money could buy when it was launched and still is to a large extent. But then, for a device supposedly as good as the One, there just isn’t as many of the device in the market.

HTC-One

Here are the reasons why. Production of the HTC One had met with some slowdown effects, which can be attributed to the difficulty the manufacturers were facing in putting together the ultrapixel camera, one of the star attractions of the HTC One. But there was another major factor which played against the gadget and that was its lack of support for Verizon. Verizon is one of the largest network service providers in the US. That HTC did not provide for support for Verizon in its device was surely not a wise move and could be labeled as an important factor for the HTC One not becoming as popular as it should have been.

Fortunately, there seem some bright spots in the horizon. EvLeaks, the source for quite authentic leaks on gadgets of the day, has been displaying the HTC One alongside other HTC phones from Verizon. The HTC One has also been indicated under its code name of M7 at many other sites which gives the launch date as July.

We have also had references of the T6 before though that is least likely to be the HTC One. Instead, there is a greater likelihood of the T6 to be a replacement for the Droid DNA. The latter too is very capable in its own right and consumers eager to upgrade can do well to check this one out as well.

Verizon Galaxy S4 Interesting Features – Unlocking Possible

May 24, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

It took quite some time for Verizon to release their Samsung Galaxy S4. Finally it has arrived. AT&T, Sprint, U.S Cellular and T-Mobile which are some of the leading cellular networks have been already offering the Galaxy S4 which was officially announced by Samsung in the month of March. The flagship Galaxy S4 replaced the Galaxy S3 with new features and powerful hardware.

The Galaxy S4 comes with 5inch display that supports full HD 1080p, quad-core Snapdragon 600 CPU, 13MP camera, 2GB RAM, microSD slot and marvelous design. The Galaxy S4 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which is the latest version of Android available.

galaxy s4

Verizon is one of the most preferred cellular networks in US. In fact, many were actually waiting for Galaxy S4 to come to Verizon. Here are five things you should know about Verizon’s Galaxy S4:

Largest 4G LTE Network
What makes Verizon different from other cellular networks?  It offers the largest 4G LTE network.  After Verizon announced the release of Galaxy S4 on their network, there has been such a huge hype which cannot be compared with launches on other cellular networks. Covering over 497 markets across US, Verizon is one the most reliable LTE network. AT&T is the second largest LTE network provider.

So, a person purchasing Verizon’s Galaxy S4 is confident that wherever he travels in US, he will surely be able to access 4G LTE readily. On other networks, you don’t get access to 4G LTE and you may have to wait for couple of weeks

Cost
You can get Verizon’s Galaxy S4 for $250. Retailers of Verizon such as Amazon and Staples may offer the Galaxy S4 at a lower price like $180 or $199 and that too without a mail-in rebate. So, if you are planning to buy Verizon’s Galaxy S4, we suggest you to get it from a third-party retailer.

16GB Version Only
The Galaxy S4 is available in storage variants such as 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. However, as of now, Verizon is only offering 16GB version of Galaxy S4. Even though the space is less, the device also comes with an external microSD slot that can detect up to 64GB. After some time, Verizon will make 32GB and 64GB version available but there is no official confirmation on it

Slower Updates
It is sad but true fact that when it comes to fixing bugs and updating the OS, Verizon has always been the last to receive them. So, if Android 4.3 or 5.0 will be available in the near future, Verizon will be the last cellular network to receive the update whereas other network providers may receive it early.

Unlocking Possible
Developer Dan Rosenberg has claimed that in the near future a bootloader unlock will be available. Unlocking will allow users to customize their according to their wish by installing personalized software. Even though Verizon has locked the device but unlocking will surely be possible in the near future.

Verizon HTC One: The Wait Continues, And So Does The Hope

May 24, 2013 By Deborah Cobing Leave a Comment

The Verizon and HTC One hide-n-seek saga continues, it seems. It was Viva Movil that Verizon and Jennifer Lopez launched at the well attended and much awaited CITA event in Las Vegas. So far as the tech geeks go, yesterday’s event had the focus on Verizon who were expected to launch their HTC One as well as its VoLTE network. Verizon remained suspiciously silent on both. Consumer frustration turned visibly high at the end of the event and some has even begun to doubt if the HTC One does actually exist in Verizon’s future devices list.

verizon htc one

Hopes that the device would be launched soon come from a leakster @LLabTooFeR, specializing in tracking HTC and their products. Information from the leakster does not however yet mention any date or time. Other devices that would compete with the HTC One have already hit the shelves or officially confirmed to be available at fixed dates. This includes the likes of Samsung Galaxy S4, with Galaxy Note 3 and iPhone 5S expected in the fall. No way another smart device can’t be accommodated in this list. There is also the possibility of the HTC Butterfly 2 coming in which is supposed to be launched by the third quarter of this year. This could happen if Verizon does not consider the HTC One to be suitable for the market right now.

One other logical thinking that could be applied is that it could be June for the HTC One to finally arrive in Verizon colors. This was what the early rumors had been contemplating, of its launch being a month or so after the others. It was late April that other HTC One models came to the US market. Calculating with that as the base time, the month of June seems quite possible. The only way to confirm is to hope for the leakster who seems to have access to inside information to be authentic and therefore wait for the predictions to come true.

Verizon and Sprint Galaxy Note 2 prices drop

May 16, 2013 By James Faulkner 3 Comments

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 remains one of the finest flagships delivered by Samsung. Its accredited performance has led to fans’ agitation over Galaxy Note 3. Galaxy S4 was released a month back and Note 3 is expected to be a bit similar to S4.

But Samsung has not stated anything over its plans to bring out the Note 3, but possibly it will be unveiled soon, considering the profitable performance of its predecessor. But much before the release of Note 3, Galaxy Note 2 prices have already dropped down and the device is being provided by major retailers at much lower prices.

note 2

Amazon has notably cut off Verizon and Sprint Galaxy Note 2 prices. If you are willing to commence a new account with US’ largest network, or add a new series to the present account, then by fastening the deal through Amazon Wireless, Samsung’s finest flagship will put you back only $79.99 over a 2-year contract with the network. If you are looking forward to update your current line, you will be charged with some additional bucks, Note 2 being tagged with a price of $149.99.

However, with Big Red, charging $199.99 for the flagship, you will be able to save around 50 bucks.  If you choose Sprint and are ready to commence a new line with Now Network, a larger price cut will be facilitated to you. The flagship will put you back only $49.99 in this case. But by attaching a new series to your present Sprint account, the Note 2 will be yours at $149.99, upgrading a current one will put you back $299.99. Of course, you will have to sign up a two-year contract with the carrier to get the discount.

This amazing price drop of Note 2 on Verizon and Sprint may motivate users to switch to this highly discounted offer.
