Verizon may have exclusivity with the Droid Ultra range from Motorola though that does not mean it will remain shut off from all the Moto X fun. However, while Verizon may be a bit late in upping its ante with the Motorola hero phone, the carrier seems to be getting its act together now. The official registration page is now already live where enthusiastic consumers can sign up to remain abreast of all the latest developments concerning the device.
The ultimate release date of the device though has been a mystery to us all, though a leaked Best Buy inventory screen can have some pointers of what to expect and when. As far as the Moto X is concerned, Verizon may have it rolling from August 29. That is a week later than the August 23 date that all other carriers will be sticking to as the release date of the Moto X.
A specific reason explaining the delay is not available right now, nor is there any official confirmation if the Aug 29 launch date can indeed be relied upon. Maybe Verizon has its hand full right now, what with the carrier having to schedule the launch of the new Droid series of smartphones together with the HTC One. The Moto X has to be squeezed somewhere in between as well.
However, what seems a certainty is that the new Droid lineup will be the first off the block from Verizon, which will allow them a slight headstart over the others. The Droid Maxx and the Droid Ultra could get to see the light of the day on August 20 itself. This could be followed closely by the HTC One which is likely to be launched on August 23 though some believe it could be pushed back to August 29 as well. The HTC One from Verizon has already seen numerous time slippages and another one should not be too big a news any more.
In any case, the Moto X from Big Red is also expected on August 29, the same date that is associated with the release of the HTC One. Verizon had avoided launching the HTC One early in the month to allow the Moto X to grab all the headlines. Strangely, both the smartphones are being touted to launch the same day towards the end of the month.
