Google fixed the YouTube bug which caused iOS devices to malfunction
STATES CHRONICLE – Many iOS users observed how the YouTube app drained their battery at an extremely rapid rate. This happened both when the app was running, and also when it stayed idle in the background, and some phones even heated until they reached an unusually high temperature. Therefore, Google decided to finally address this issue and fix it.
Watching YouTube videos on iOS devices was a nuisance for users
This link between YouTube use and quick battery drainage on iOS expressed itself in different ways. Users reported that using the app for 15-30 minutes caused their battery to go down between 10 and 20 percent, and most of them took to the internet to complain about this bugging problem. However, there are others who didn’t experience any of these problems.
Therefore, tech researchers decided to explore the issue, and might have discovered what caused the phone to overheat and the battery to drain. It turned out the version of the YouTube app was to blame. Those users who struggled with these issues were using either the 12.42 or the 12.43 version of the app. Also, they experienced the same problem regardless of the iOS version they used, or of the device.
The YouTube version was to blame for overheating and battery drainage
Therefore, it’s not Apple who’s to blame, but YouTube. Therefore, Google decided to listen to all the negative feedback, and took action so that the problem should be fixed. The solution was released with the update 12.44, which came on November 14th.
However, YouTube only addressed it publicly with the release of the 12.45 version. Therefore, if you want to prevent your phone from overheating, update your YouTube version right now. It’s not clear what was causing the iOS devices to act so weirdly, but the fix is now here, so users should be able to enjoy watching videos without any trouble.
